How much is reasonable

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
depends on how many kids, if just 1-2, I would think $10, if 3-4, then $12. However, if they're part of the $15 min wage movement, then find someone else.  ;D

Depends on what the kids are doing? Are they just watching or are they helping with homework, etc as well. If just watching, I'd go with the lower amount, if they spend time helping with homework (and are capable of that), then I'd go on the higher side.

thank you, it will be pick up of 1 child from school , walking home (about 10 min walk) and then just watching them.
I feel (in this specific case) that the $8 will be fair...wish me luck :-)

Kind of on the cheap side.

The question isn't what's the going babysitter rate.  The quesstion is what's the reliable, 5 days a week, don't flake out on me rate.

You're trusting her (assumption) to pick your child up from school, 5 days a week.

So for week in week, don't flake out and pick my kid up 5x.

1. $75/week
2. $90/week
3. $60/week

My recommendation, don't quibble over it and don't count fractional time.  I'd say ofer her a deal at $100/week salary with the intention being it's rouhgly 1.5 hours/day.  You'll occasionally be 10-15 minutes late.  If it's going to go over 2 hours, you'll call and let her know and it'll be prorated $20/hr.  If she's smart, she'll counter at $150..

My daughter was an afterschool nanny type person for a while (started while she was in High School).

Depends on what you have to compete with. They can work some jobs that pay pretty well compared to the $8-10 that some have mentioned. Edwards cinema is a popular job (doesn't pay all that well but they do get free movie admissions any time they want).

When Wild Rivers was open, they could work there when they were 14 (and free park admission). Not sure someone that young has too many options, but maybe. Last thing you want is finally finding someone and then finding out they decided to leave without notice because they found something that sounded fun and not being able to replace them.

Maybe you could find a retired person in the neighborhood who would do it for you for cash........ someone who doesn't necessarily have to work so they wouldn't be prone to just leaving for greener pastures.
