How bad do you think it could get if this happened here?

I've long said that anyone with $300-$500 of spare cash could bring L.A. to it's knees.

If someone was resourceful enough to drop $100 in one dollar bills over the side of the 4 Level Interchange in DTLA, over the Santa Monica Freeway/405 Off Ramp, or for that matter from the HOV flyover on the 55/405 or 57/5 Interchange at 7:30 AM, the resulting traffic jam wouldn't get cleaned up for hours. Co-ordinated cash drops, with 75% real currency and 25% fake USD, let fly during a windy day, and one can only imagine the trouble it might cause.

So it looks like someone was test marketing this theory in the Grand Rapids.

So what do you think the impact might be if this was done here on a much larger scale?

Isn't this a plot device in several movies?

So... it's like "makin' it rain", except no strippers and with a lot more crazed people in cars.  Doesn't sound like a lot of fun... at all.

Wait... are we talking about QE4? ;D

Americans are such brutes.  I still remember footage of starving Japanese crowds waiting patiently hours in line for food after the tsunami.  Those who had extra coats or food would gladly share it with their fellow man.

Drop $1 bills in an open field and most US citizens would trample each other and put others in harms way for a free value menu item.

Heaven forbid if they try this out at Spectrum on a Saturday night.

Japanese culture has it own vices...it's not all Hello Kitty and sushi.
