I'll take this one. Brings back good memories of driving down Los Feliz Blvd.

where is this one? Is this CA?</blockquote>

This picture was taken in Georgetown.

Many were shot in Harvard Heights and LaFayette Square in Los Angeles. Robert Kennedy ate his last meal in one of these homes before assassinated at the Ambassador Hotel. These homes are above average and far from being excellent. None of photos are from Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Hancock Park, and Los Feliz. These homes are in still in attainable neighborhoods through out Southern CA.

Looks like Woodbury's stonetree manor draws it inspiration from here. Too bad they couldn't just to an exact replica.

[quote author="Mcdonna1980" date=1244636589]I have a challenge for you. How about a list with equal aesthetic but for under a mil.</blockquote>
Have you check Floral Park?

Lincoln Park, Pomona?

West Adams, LA

Lafayette Square, LA

Angelino Heights, LA

Verdugo Hills, Glendale

Eagle Rock by Occidental College.

These are neighborhoods you will find gems below a mil.

Just a drop of garage poison these homes would lose a lot of their appeal. The key is down play the importance of the garage and shift it to a subordinate position.

Angelino Heights has the most spectular enterance in IMO. I guess it is the element of surprise. Best views of downtown LA.

Agree. There are pockets of wonderful surprises with unique assets. Take Fullerton for example there are spots that has the view of LA Downtown skyline and Newport Beach/Pacific Ocean and Catalina from the same site.

Here is a trivia: Name 8 cities in Southern CA that have both view?

You got me. I take a guess at 4 Brea, Signal Hill, Rancho Palos Verde, and Buena Park

How about this one...

<a href="http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/5121-Magnolia-Ave-Riverside-CA-92506/17841918_zpid/">5121 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, CA 92506</a>

<img src="http://images3.zillow.com/is/image/i0/i1/i426/IS12ftwbbdomopv.jpg" alt="" />

5 beds, 3 baths, 3,168 sq ft, pending sale at $625,000 (almost $200/sq ft, very high for Riverside-which sort of proves bk's point).

This might qualify:

<a href="http://www.redfin.com/CA/Riverside/4040-Garden-Home-Ct-92506/home/4950282">4040 Garden Home Court, Riverside, CA 92506</a>

<img src="http://media.cdn-redfin.com/photo/45/bigphoto/776/I09062776_0.jpg" alt="" />

4 beds, 1.5 baths, 1,673 sq ft, just listed at $139,000 ($83/sq ft). That's a completely low ball price for that house-it will sell for above list, guaranteed. If I didn't already have a house, I'd bid $150k myself.

Both examples are in the Wood Streets area, which has a lot of extremely nice older homes.

trick question... do you have to physically see it (i.e. no smog) or just know its there? some days i can barely see the saddleback mtns from woodbury even though its just a few miles to the north.

i imagine parts of tustin might have those views.

Not cities but you can see both downtown LA and Catalina Island from Rowland Heights (i.e. Vantage Pointe) and Hacienda Heights (i.e. High Tor). I was at my friends house at High Tor during the LA riots to watch LA burn and it was a striking contrast to how peaceful OC looked at the same time.

I have taken panoramic pictures from High Tor in Hacienda Heights that sweeps in a arc from OC to LA.

In the hills of Rowland Heights (up Blandford), you will find abandoned Nike antiaircraft missle sites from the Cold War as well as the remains of antiaircraft artillery positions dating from WWII. The missles and guns were installed atop the Puente Hills, originally to defend against Jap carrier attack and later Soviet bombers, because from there, you can get a clear shot across the entire LA basin from the OC coast to the Santa Monica mountains. Because of Rowland Heights' strategic hilltop location, the large numbers of affluent Asians living there could pose a national securitiy threat as they can perform fire control for PRC forces from there.

As long you can see on the non smoggy days it is counted.

Status on the Garden Home Ct house has already been changed to Backup Offer. Somebody probably already put in a bid tens of thousands of dollars above list.
