<em>WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 12, 2009) ? The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) today released its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending November 6, 2009. The Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, increased 3.2 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the Index increased 2.8 percent compared with the previous week.
The Refinance Index increased 11.3 percent from the previous week and the seasonally adjusted Purchase Index decreased 11.7 percent from one week earlier. The seasonally adjusted Purchase Index is at its lowest level since December 2000. The unadjusted Purchase Index decreased 13.7 percent compared with the previous week and was 21.6 percent lower than the same week one year ago.
