Speaking of Panda Challenge...where is Panda? How come he isn't part of the game? I thought the purpose was to see how "GOOD" of an investor blowhard Panda is?
HOLY SMOKES : Did i read this right? Dow below 10,000 S&P;1,100 Nasdaq 1500. Is this possible by October?

Not sure i'm aware of the Panda challange. My options executed just fine. Sold calls of AIG when it hit 4s (should have held on to 5, but greed kills) and puts this morning.
Next play...straddle AAPL @ 130
One day...give me a break. Gold is about breakeven for him right now...so he might be +10-20 on it if he indeed averaged in around 750.
The dollar is pulling back...about time.
Regardless...did Panda ever sign up? Is he "ukyo116"?
Well I could have come on here every day when Gold was selling off 10+ a day from the 900s and posted oh...down 5, down 10, down 20, down 30 ?
But then that would be annoying.

It wasn't that hard of a call. Prior to the Fannie and Freddie bailout, the government knew firsthand that they were going to have to doling out money to bailout these institutions. They COULDN'T allow gold to be hovering around $950 - $1000. The takedown was too hard, too fast and smelled of manipulation.
Like Awgee said, it was a short squeeze, and now with the IBs scrambling for money they have to sell/cover whatever is liquid.

The irony is perfect. The IBs have turned a blind eye to, and possibly participated in, naked short selling for years in order to make large fees from naked short selling clients. And now the naked short sellers may have turned on them and are exposing the IB's weaknesses and vulnerabilities. The IBs are getting what they gave and it is sweet.
And a topping of a bit more irony: IMO, precious metal mining shares are the most heavily naked shorted shares in the market, mostly in Canada.
