Anyone stayed here?  Check out the room service menu, they have a $200 bento box.

Planning a weekender in Sept with the fam, any suggestions?  Plan to buffet, swim, hold wifeys outlet bags, and more buffet...thinking of Aria because they have that Asian buffet.

Wife only wants to stay at Bellagio.

I want to try out that new City Center complex... except I don't feel like driving... want to fly.

If you have Amex Platinum, look at Amex's fine hotels and resorts.  You get early check in, late check out, free breakfast for 2, $100 resort credit and upgraded room.  Great program for Vegas.

PL'd 5 star Strip South at $183 and got Aria.. this is for Friday check in for 2 nights... was hoping for Vdara for the no smoking policy and free internet.. oh well.. still happy we got CityCenter.. TheBuffet.. here I come :)

Goto the mandarin bar if you get a chance at the mandarin oriental since you'll be right next to it. Great views

Be careful at Hash House a Go Go if you are not one to "waste" food.  The first time my friends and I went there we ordered four dishes.  We ended up eating three.  The portions are quite large and you wouldn't want to get that full day full feeling when you have other great places to eat.

I will have to check out Raku and Holsteins.

Ps9 - we stayed at Cosmo last year for a bachelor party and ate at Holsteins a couple of times. Excellent burgers, as with all places with good food the wait canbe bad at times.

Wicked spoon: $41/person dinner

+
BBQ shrimp with grits
Paella
Gelato
Fresh horseradish near the prime rib
Kalbi

-
Crab legs
All Asian food except for kalbi
Prime rib
Al pastor tacos (wtf, for $40 I want lobster tacos!)

Hash house a go go at the Quad (formerly Imperial palace)

+
Corn beef hash with potatoes
Coffee
Cappuccino

-
The chicken waffle tower with leeks was bland
The wait (40 minutes for mediocre food)
The cigarette smoke from the casino floors
Waiter had way too many tables to pay attention to us
People drinking during breakfast

Firefly (Spanish tapas off strip)

+
Pulpo
Pulpo
Pulpo
Sangria (delicious but weak)
No wait even for Sat night

-
Paella was burnt, don't like rice sticking to teeth and too salty
Burnt fries (c'mon!)

Pho Bosa

+
Soup is HOT
Flavorful cinnamon, oniony pho
Good quality cuts of meat
Did I say HOT soup? Very important for pho

-
Steep angle when entering parking lot, will bottom out/crack side skirts if not careful

By far the best meal I had in Vegas....take that Robuchan, Mastro, Mina, Nobu.

I went to Raku last year and had the omokase which was $75/person.  Then I had to go to secret pizza in City center an hour later cause I was still hungry.  The slices at secret pizza which are displayed actually tasted better than their whole pizza.  This is because they re-heat the slices, and the tips become crunchy.  For the whole pizza, the middle is soft which gives no texture.
