Is there another topic - at least in the US - that evokes more passion than housing?

I doubt it!

Religion?

Politics?

While these are topics of much debate, at least the sides are well-defined. The underlying arguments also generally remain the same through time immemorial.

Housing, on the other hand - with it's ups-and-downs and twists-and-turns - always seems fresh! And ripe for "discussion".

Just when I peg someone as a dem - nope, republican. Or is it liberitarian? Or is it dem again?

There isn't one kind of bear, nor one kind of bull.

Aw - forget it. Just play nice!

One which can be discussed in polite company, you mean?

I will say one thing: it's a lot more civil here than on Lasner's blog!

Has anyone noticed just how antagonistic it's gotten?

This effen president....and the war.

EZtroyler will always be around on Lansner's blog. He won't shutup until us bears start buying houses, at which point he'll lose interest.

I do look forward to the day when IHB is where we all trade leads on sweet properties and compare the deals we made.

How about a few of us getting together and submitting simultaneous *really* low ball offers to the same unsuspecting seller just for sport . Brilliant !

There was a news article on that very subject a while back. Investment clubs who would target a seller with equity (and therefore had room to cut their price). Multiple individuals would make coordinated lowballs and inspire the seller to start second-guessing their price.

We would never stoop so low.

Yeah - EZ. Hmmm. At least he has what might pass for a sense of humor! Might.

His competition: Rants.

I always wondered why they haven't migrated over here.

What makes you think LZingMoney hasn't been here?

I love rants. Notice Sue just posts links like rants used to.

Real life true story. My mom's friends are selling their home. They had anticipated having the home on the market sooner but had to make a repair which delayed the listing. Well it has been sitting with a so so amount of traffic. A couple who are doctors liked the home and made an offer. Well they thought it was a little low so they countered higher. The buyers countered back at a price even lower that their original. They were insulted and refused the offer. I'm thinking I should tell them about IHB.

At least Sue's are fresh.

How many times can I read Jim Rogers?

I can't read the rants on Craigslist anymore. Too depressing. I do, however, get a kick out of reading the casual encounters every once in a while. Boy howdy, there are some mighty weird people out there in webville!

*dusting off soapbox*

Why in heaven's name are you looking at Craigslist anyway? If you want to catch fish, you go to a lake or river. If you want to catch yourself a lady, back away from the computer and get yourself over someplace where ladies hang out, or otherwise can be found in person.

I don't know how well this works, but maybe you should check this out.

And here you thought your Mother was on the other coast.
