We actually took some pictures between our wedding and reception in Irvine at the park that's off of culver, between harvard and campus. It's not bad but nothing amazing. It does have water and some nice lawn but otherwise a little plain.

If you're looking for something a little cooler, what about something like the St. Regis Monarch Bay? You might have to make arrangements to take photos there but it seems very pretty (gazebos and fountains) based on the website.

I'm sure one of the fancy OC hotels has a nice garden or other scenic area that would be nice for pictures.

The Montage has a very nice setting. You would get the ocean views, but from their garden, so no beaches. On a clear day, you could have Catalina in the background.

This is where I got married. It was raining all week prior to "The Date". Everything was picture perfect... Except for me.

But if I could do it all over again, I'd jam over to the courthouse, tie the knot and use all the money we saved on 35 Malibu.

There are 2 locked access stairwells to the roof. It is really ugly up there full of tar, asphalt roofing and AC condensers. The view of the Santa Ana city view is not really visible from there. The character of Santora viewed from the back side of the parapet is a big disappointment. You may be better off at the top level of the multi-story public parking structures.

I think it has the urban OC vibe that has been missing....

I am impressed Spiderman. Did you see the pigeon droppings in the stairwell? Was the door locked or the janitor unlocked the door for you. My office was there for 3 years. Skek, Eva and Graph liked the building. There is a talented theatre designer Joseph Musil located at the 2nd floor who refurbished and remodeled the El Capitan as well many other Disney renovated projects. He collects many old antique architectural books for design references.

Few OC residents appreciate the character of reclaimed urban revitalization. Santora is struggling with financial issues. Policy under the historic agreement and tax incentive for the owner that the tenants must be in an art related field. Many artists barely able to pay rent.

The Arts District was a great improvement for people with business in the courts or the civic center. Previously, professionals fled the area as soon as their business was done. If you had to eat lunch, it was either Shelly's Courthouse Bistro or the Mexican hot dog cart. Memphis/Gypsy den was a godsend. The Arts District gave professionals a reason to hang around the area and feel relatively safe when their business was done.

The hubby just did some portraits at Chino Hills state park - it was a nice change of scenery, but I got a little nervous when we heard rustling in the bushes, more so when the ranger asked if we'd seen any wild animals, and even more so when he showed us the picture of a snake he'd found at the entrance to the park... A lot of OC-ians love the beach photography, so he welcomes the change, critters notwithstanding
