I never thought any piece of land - no matter how holy it was - was ever worth a single drop of blood of a human being. Now it's Neda's blood staining all this land that I kissed goodbye years ago. I am a father and my daughters are my life. I just can't imagine what her father is doing right now...

It's sad to see what's happening in Iran, but every revolution has it's own price tag..

Never saw it from a parent's perspective.. will be unbearable to see kids end up like this, even if it is for a good cause.
 
Watching her die was absolutely heartbreaking..... but that was tempered by the disgust at reading this comment underneath the Youtube video:

It is truly heart-breaking, but my heart is warmed to know that for every stupid comment like that, there are thousands and thousands who show their love, humanity, and solidarity. I am particularly amazed to see people around me from every walk of life, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, nationality or political view are supporting the people of Iran in their rise for freedom.

how is the Iranian population in Irvine reacting, recently? I know there is a fair size population here; I think there was a polling booth here right?
 
There had been protests every night in front of Wholesome Choice or The District for a couple of weeks after the revolution began. Not long ago, I went to one by Wholesome Choice to show my opposition to government violence against the protesters. While holding my candle, countless people thanked me for being there, since I was the only one who was not of Persian descent. Regrettably, the issue has faded considerably.
