We all do it- regifting the gifts. Sometimes there is no attachment to the person who gifted, or the one we are gifting. Sometimes there is no time, and you pass off something that's home and unopened. Sometimes, there are just too many boxes of chocolates so you give it off..
Fun begins. I go first. I will add many stories later, but this just happened this morning. Special mention ;-)
I got a box of chocolates from a friend who I met over coffee. There is no obligation to get anything to each other since we aren't very close, and but since it's holiday season, better chocolates than empty hands. Good enough. I washed my hands off one of the Hawaiian Macadamia nut chocolates I got from Costco, and she got me what looked like the mini 4-chocolates See's candies box.
So, small boxes don't go unopened in my house. That's a policy. I will eat every chocolate from the small box.
The box had chocolates and Babies r us card.. $25. Ouch! My friend has a seven year old, and my youngest turned six a week ago. So, I am assuming someone regifted her. I would love to trace the origin of the box, but girl friend is not game. She said finders keepers, enjoy the card.
What's your story?
ETA: I am thinking of keeping the card in my purse and giving it off to some family in need. Not donate to a charity I usually donate to, but I am talking giving the card to a stranger.. good idea? or I will spook the people?
