Gift cards from the Irvine Company

I was just wondering if you guys were getting the emailed surveys requesting your input from the Irvine Company. My husband and I have received two and as a result got two gift cards for participating. One of the surveys was about intentions to buy...your income and such, but the other was really cool! It wanted info. on how important green living conditions and housing are to us. This is very important to us so it was good to put some input in. The only thing that I didn't really like about the questions were that they all stressed the importance of saving money while going green, my husband and I are the opposite, we are willing to pay more money for the stuff that doesn't harm our bodies or the environment. It isn't about the bottom line when it comes to that stuff.

I also took the 2 surveys. The latest 'green' one was really interesting. While we're all waiting to buy the current backlog of homes, TIC has moved on to newer (and better?) homes. Not too many 'green' features got me excited but the $10 Amazon.com gift card sure did.

Green building is going mainstream and will soon become the norm in CA. There are a number of legal catalysts at play -- the most important of which is on-going and forthcoming litigation under the California Environmental Quality Act. Counties and cities will be forced to mandate that new construction meet certain enumerated green standards. Just remember that I told you so.
