Interesting about the Porsche. Someone I have known for many years owns a Porsche, yet he scoffs at materialism and has no interest in impressing anyone. Everything else in his life (except for his high maintenance wife >:( ) is extremely down to earth and not showy. He just loves to drive it.

Yeah, ditto here. I've never really been one to waste a lot on materialistic status items because I don't really care what people thing of me. I wanted to get a 911 for years because of the looks and speed (I actually took it to the track like 10 times) so when I made enough income to justify it I pulled the trigger. Some of us guys have the same kind of love for cars as some women have for purses and shoes.
 
Congrats SC. Curious about you going IC... Did they require you to come through a corporate entity, i.e. a corp or at least an LLC? We don't allow individual/sole proprietor's to go the IC route with us. Do you have to provide your own GL insurance?

No, they make that optional which I will take advantage of by using the LLC that I created for my rental properties. I believe the consultant firm takes care of the required insurance via the contract fees they collect from the clients for the projects. What happens is the clients pay the consulting firm and then the consulting firm 1099s the individual consultants. Depending upon the duration of the contract for the project (if it's over 12 months) the consulting firm will make the consultants W2 employees and provide them full benefits.

That being said, my end goal is still to get back into accounting/finance and I'll be working with Jeane and David on landing something while working on getting my CPA by the end of year.

I go to Orange 6 days a week from Quail in the morning.

Stick to the 405. It opens up after Jeffery and is clear to the 55.

Take it easy on the 55 merging. Get over ASAP and head to the 5 North.

If its a little sticky. You can cheat and use the 22 west as well.

Then hit the 57. AVOID the 5. 9 out of 10 the 405 to 55 is clear

from 7-8 AM. Its not a bad drive as traffic is going the other way

for the most part.

And congratulations on the new assignment.

Coming home is easier. The 5 is no problem southbound in the afternoon

where the 405 should be avoided southbound.
 
Congrats! I drive from Turtle Ridge to Brea and back every day (I work off of Imperial and Kramer) and I take 73 to 55 to 5 to 57 in the morning and in the evening, I take Tustin to 91 to 55 to 73. It's about 26 miles for me and I get to work at around 8 and usually am home by about 6:30...Most days it takes me between 35-40 minues, not too bad; traffic is mostly moving the whole time. It might take you a few extra minutes on the 405 if you take it to 55 vs the 73 route I take. If you're going to leave at around 5:00, you'll probably find that the 55 gets a little backed up around the 5 freeway, otherwise the 24 miles is definitely bearable by socal standards. I agree with whoever posted to stay in the left lanes on 57N after the 91 in the mornings - when school is out for the summer, it's not a big deal but for the rest of the year, the CSF traffic slows things down. Hope that helps.

I'll try the 405 route for a bit and see how it goes.
 
Yeah, I agree Trojanman, stick to the 405. I don't think my route works due to your location. Now if you move to the Northpark/Tustin Ranch side of town. Its perfect!
