saw a post that akim and homer ran into each other on a BMW board and got me wondering what other forums we regularly post or lurk on

outside of TI, i spend time at flyertalk, stockgumshoe (not a forum but comments are great), bogleheads, and redfin forums

honestly, outside of TI, i dont post much on the other forums these days...

You can find me on Redfin occasionally questioning Mr. Bob Phillips.

I'm on other forums, mostly geek tech, but not with the IHO name.

hah iphoneowner :)

i am not creative enough to have a new name on every forum

i have seen an SGIP on some of the tech blogs i read and i always imagine it to be our very own SGIP....its interesting running into other TI folks in the vast internets

I'm a member of a bmw forum (apparently lots of bmw fans here on TI), dpreview, avsforum...but aren't really that active over there.  Lurk on a bunch of Mac & photography forums.  My forum of choice is wineberserkers.com.  Great forum if you're remotely interested in wine.  Have met a bunch of great ppl from that forum who I consider good friends now.  Wine geeks are some of the most generous ppl I've ever met.  Wine can be intimidating for folks (and expensive), but really a fun hobby.  As a side benefit, my wine collection has appreciated much better than my stock portfolio, but I don't sell, I drink...well, I sell a little bit if the bottle has appreciated into the crazy statospheric range.  Of note, wineberserkers is a real names forum, no anonymity, makes for a different type of dynamic.  That's the forum that turned me onto Bryan's Fine Foods that I posted a link to awhile back in a BBQ thread, amazing melt in your mouth steaks and meats.  A clever person might be able to figure out who I am cuz we use real names over there, except there are over 7000 members and probably hundreds just from the OC.  Check it out if you ever wanted to learn about wine or want to join in on some wine centered dinners or activities.

Oh cool! I actually lurk that wine forum and never posted anything before.

I'm a big wine guy as well! Maybe you should start a wine thread and post some of your favorite whites and reds... Do a review or something :)

Lol, I don't think a wine thread would gain enough traction to most members here on TI.  Maybe an all inclusive wine and spirits thread.  I'm geeky about beer, scotch, sake and to a smaller extent bourbon.  It might be nice to post when a desirable, low allocation wine or spirit is in stock at a local wine store such as when there's a buying frenzy when Pappy Van Winkle 20 yr is in stock at Total Wine.

A booze forum would be helpful. So many choices, so few bits of liver left.

Nice to see some cross pollination over at RF. Helpful to have a few more realists over there.

I've been trying to get into OC Housing News. It's difficult but I'm trying. It would behoove me to find a different real estate place to haunt that is less focused on Irvine. However, then I read a post like this where it's an ironic spoof of its former self: Call Shevy at extension (lucky number) 8888! We'll sell your home in 90 days or we'll sell it for 'free'". I think it's the combination of poor grammar with SEO-gone-crazy website design that makes it hard for me to follow. Also, there is no by-line on the posts, so, it's hard to follow the author. Over-posting makes it difficult to stay caught up. A wise man once told me it is a "content farm". I definitely think he's right about that. There's no concern for quality, just sheer content.

Could you imagine if you could go back in time and told Larry this is what he'd be doing in the year 2012?? Pinch me.

No other forums, but I also haunt the UK Daily Mail's comments section but under a different name. It has a strong state-side focus. Rag Mag meets newspaper.
