I think we've done this before but for those of you who haven't or don't remember... would you care to explain your screen name?

For me... when I first started looking through the IHB forums... I noticed that many of the questions to the new members were of the "where do you live/do you rent/are you buying/" variety so like IrvineRenter and IrvineRealtor, I wanted a name that was descriptive of who I was and gave people an idea of where I was coming from when I posted my opinions.

IrvineOwner was taken... and actually, so what IrvineHomeOwner... so I underscored and went with irvine_home_owner. Had I known it would eventually be shortened to IHO (sounds like a shill for Apple or Irvine)... I probably would have chosen IrvineRentOwnBuyOrTrade. :)

So what's your story?
 
it was my least creative moment. i literally used my initials when signing up for IHB....  and because i figured TI was extension of IHB, continued with it. 
 
I just shared the 'secret' with someone yesterday :-) Long ago, when there were no blogs, I sent one of my stories to an editor of a very junk website, and he rejected it saying 'it had the sparkle, but not the depth'. So the Zirconia.. I used it as a blogging id for 4-5 years.

Irvine in a way is Zirconia land too. Agree?



 
In 2008 when I started posting at various sites, the financials were approaching the cliff. Societal chaos was coming. What better metaphor for the collapse than the living eating the dead. I'm also an "Abiding Dude" because although I don't savor White Russians as often as I have in the past, my 'tude is pretty much the same as "The Dude". 
 
i am not creative at all. when i needed a username to sign up at IHB i just kept looking at the keyboard and so i just went with qwerty.
 
I used to have a different username when I first began on IHB. It's a nickname my husband uses for me. When I needed to come up with something but was drawing blanks, he suggested I use it. So, I did. Then a certain person here teased me about it on at least three occasions when I met him, including once in a group at Cantaloop during an old IHB meet-up. It embarrassed me, so after that I begged Zovall to let me change it to something more generic. Thankfully, he made an exception for me. That is what I have now. I began life in Orange County in 1978. SoCal78. There you have it.

I don't think you want to hear that. What you want to hear is Zovall's story of how he got his username. It's a cute story!

Yes, you are correct. I'm an Orange County native, born here in '78.

Oh yes! Margaritas and the back-story.. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the 'six others' don't ruin our plans ;-)
 
My forum name was my nickname in high school and in college. Plus it's an abbreviation of my first and last names.
 
My IHB name was different than mine on here.  Personal reasons why...  My current name on here is my nick name and my wife's smashed together.  Not too creative but it works...
