This restaurant opened in the old Diho supermarket shopping plaza in Monterey Park. It's a very competitive location with several other large dim sum restaurants nearby on Atlantic Blvd -- NBC seafood is practically next door.

I'm not Cantonese and will not claim expertise with dim sum. However, from the dishes that I've had, I'd rate them a "B". This is not a dim sum cart place, you must order from a menu. Generally speaking this means it's a more upscale place, and the dishes are more finely prepared. But if you look at the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice above, they put a sheet of wax paper in there. This makes the rice less sticky to the leaf and looks better, but takes away the fragrance of the leaf in the rice.

The turnip dish was quite interesting and reminds me of a Taiwanese dish that's somewhat similar (see pic above that looks kind of like porrage). I was expecting turnip cakes but they served it in a bowl. @_@

The curry dish was somewhat Americanized with heavier curry flavor. As I recall Cantonese style curry is more watery and not as thick. Also, the shrimp har gau (not in pictures) fell apart and the stuffing was kinda "loose". But overall they got most of the dishes right and it was pretty tasty. Expect higher tab than NBC Seafood however.
