Simple, delicious South American hearty dishes at reasonable prices. I loved the Pollo a la parilla a lo pobre, the grilled chicken steak was delicious, though everything else on the plate seemed mundane. The beef & potato fries dish was very flavorful, the beef wasn't very tender but delicious never the less. Bread dipping sauce nice and spicy. Seafood dishes were so-so but acceptable. This is Americanized Peruvian food and may disappoint people looking for "authentic" dishes.
(If you're looking for tender beef, try the Chinese station at Wholesome Choice Market on Culver in Irvine, order the $3.99 beef salad, which is a large pile of tender beef on top of a little salad and noodles).
