Earthquake bracing

Since it seems like this is earthquake week, I thought I'd ask this question.

How many of you have earthquake braced your furniture?  I did my big china cabinet because my wife had been nagging me about it for so long.  At least now if it topples over, it won't be my fault.    I should do some of my bookcases but they're not the expensive heavy ones so it's probably not worth it.  I still probably should since I have small kids and they could tip it over onto themselves.

The other thing I can think of is the refrigerator but how would you do that?

I don't think a fridge should be that much of a concern. An earthquake that has enough force to knock over your fridge would probably knock over your house so it wouldn't matter if it was braced or not.

We have nothing braced... but we don't have any high book shelves or cabinets.

During the last big one in 2008 or so... the large vanity mirror in the master bath shattered and was in pieces in the bathroom floor... and that was glued on to the wall.

We braced our dressers. At first, we did the simple one that comes with the furniture, but it toppled over our four year old and it was a scary experience. After that braced even the ones with three drawers with a metal L and showed them in the dresser. (There was no earthquake, but the big sister opened the top drawer, forgot to close it)

Bookcases- please do. They might not be expensive or heavy, but when they topple over, imagine a little kid sitting and playing on the carpet below, and books.. book case falling over. Their bones are very fragile. After the dresser fell on her, she didn't have any fractures, but her body was blue and black, hurt so much for the next couple of weeks.

There are some refrigerator straps available on Amazon. We haven't strapped ours.. nor seen anyone do it though.

My fridge is built in, hope I don't need to brace that.
