Not true, you just have to be smart about when you leave So Cal and Vegas. I love driving (I have a sports car with a radar detector) and hate dealing with airports, especially McCarran.</blockquote>


Other reasons not to drive.

Wear and tear on the car. My car is not Valet Friendly. Too low. Too fast.

FYI. They use planes to speed trap you on the 15 these days.

Yes McCarran can be a pain in the butt.

But watching some guy pass me towing a boat going 100 MPH is not my idea of a relaxing drive

Oh believe me, I have a low car with lots of power which is what makes the drive fun. If you go in the middle of the night, it's an open road with almost no cops (I do use a V1 radar detector though). I do have a home in the suburbs that I own with my dad so I don't stay at hotels, just park it in the 3-car garage. ;)</blockquote>

It just depends upon certain companies. Some small companies/airports will let you, other's will not. It just depends.

When working on a guided projectile project, we had a company ship a custom 155mm Howitzer with ammo aboard. The other time I got a ride aboard a AC-130. That was fun, but I got to do all the crap jobs (which was ok... my job was to monitor the performance of certain specialized hardware. Anyways good luck and have fun.



I don't think driving is the ticket, way too many accidents after a weekend of partying.

Yeah, it's either 415hp or 420hp. I have an exhaust, intake, programming, and upgraded hybrid turbos so it doesn't take much to get to 550hp. Now once you start wanting to go above 550+hp it gets really expensive plus it's kinda pointless anyhow since you'll start to lose traction with more power.

Nope, I'm not a big fan of the Techart kit...too aggressive. I just picked up a fixed GT2 carbon fiber wing and decklid versus the OEM adjustable one.

But I may do the chip and pully now that my warranty is up.

50 Hp for about $ 1800.00

While I like the Porches, there are very few that are decently fast. I did run into this one guy with a 730WHP turbo model. Wicked crazy.

I'm just skating around at 500+whp. I did do a dyno run with 612whp and 645lb-ft (Boost at 12lbs running 95 octane, about 740ish engine hp). But that's just a number.... as its not easy or pleasant to drive on the highway. Even with Nitto NT01's at temp, the tires would lose traction FAR into 3 and partial 4th (big torque at down low). After that common sense took over and I dialed it back to 9ish psi and 510whp and 530lb-ft. Much more pleasant to drive, but hooligan-ism is just a quarter thorttle away! :-P



Of course gas milage isn't too great though.... (~10mpg average).

We should have a friendly run on the 405 when you get chipped, it'll be a close race but I think I'll still get ya because my car is much lighter (I took out the front wheel drive plus a few other things to lighten it up).

I agree Bix, there is a point where more power is just a waste. Not only do you get traction problems, but you also put more stress of the various parts of the car with that extra power. 550hp is more than enough and will beat 98% of all cars on the road. I'd love to pick up a 997 GT3 but the prices are still way too high. My car actually gets decent mileage (15-16 around town) and up to 22-24 on my Vegas trips.

ahemm... i woulden't mind. My only issue is that the mustang has the aerodynamics of a brick.... After a while, it take a HUGE amount of HP.

ha ha No, my car is not set up for drag racing... its more set up for open track.... The thing that people don't understand is that drag racers keep their engines at WOT (Wide Open Throttle) for a few seconds, I've had my engine at WOT for 30-45 seconds. That is a lifetime ....



I'm not making much more hp (the engine lossened up just a wee bit...) maybe another 30-40more hp.

Anyways we will see. Take it easy
