Cypress Village East (Empty land at corner of Sand Canyon and Trabuco)

I received notice this week that the empty land at the corner of Sand Canyon and Traduco(which has been empty for the past 10 years even after Cypress Village was built out) is now being proposed to have a mix of apartment style homes and low-income homes. I was hoping they would use that land for a small shopping center since everyone has to go to Woodbury Town Center, but unfortunately, more homes. Although I do find it a bit odd that this particular piece of land has been sitting idle forever, wonder why it took so long.

There will be a new shopping center constructed just beyond there, at Great Park Blvd and Bosque. Everything from Sand Canyon to Bosque will be new housing.
