Crime at Woodbury Court

So I guess the hood has arrived near my doorstep--there goes the neighborhood. Seems pretty sick that an off duty LA Sheriff deputy would try to castrate another guy. Check out the articles in the <a href="http://www.ocregister.com/articles/police-victim-mcclain-2173625-handfield-irvine">OC Register </a>and <a href="http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-stab30-2008sep30,0,7336426.story">LA Times</a>. Apparently they found the guy bleeding at the IAC leasing office at <a href="http://www.rental-living.com/Communities/Woodbury-Court/">Woodbury Court</a>. I can only imagine what the leasing agent would say when taking folks on tours--don't mind the blood on the floor, our IAC maintenance guarantee will insure that all evidence of criminal activity will be cleaned up within 24 hrs!

[quote author="Astute Observer" date=1222829854]A lot of crimes and incidences were not reported in OCR or the LAT. I see a few incidences in past few months, and I can't find any info about them on the local newspaper or the police blot.

I have been preaching for months that Bad PR is being censored. Having a good safety record meant $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to the city of Irvine.

Same here. An incident occurred in our IAC apt. complex here in Portola Springs. I searched the police blotters for it and could find no record of it.

Interesting that neither article mentions Woodbury by name. I don't know if that is typical of crime articles or not. OC Register is usually pretty scant on details but that seems like a useful detail to include in the article. If others on this forum weren't so observant I wouldn't have known this happened in my hood.

Police records are mysteriously vanished. Always insist on getting a copy of the report in many cases renters could sue the landlord for not providing adequate security and environment. Evidence and documentation were poorly kept so many cases were dropped due to lacking a proper paper trail. City hall works for the wealthy and renters are at the bottom of its list ranking slightly above the JOP hobo.

I use <a href="http://www.ocsd.org/">http://www.ocsd.org/</a> -> e-services link

The only way I knew it was in Woodbury was the incident address was given in the Register article--short Google search turned up the leasing office address at Woodbury Court. OCR doesn't always give out the address of the crime scene.

It is amazing how the crime rate increases in the 92705. Sounds like all the Irvine crime gets transferred to "Santa Ana".

I was alarmed when I saw the headline of this post...but there is a big difference between a crime of passion like this (where assailant and victims are associated with each other) and random violence. The former can happen anywhere, the latter not so much in Woodbury.

[quote author="Astute Observer" date=1222855643]Zov, you going to do an experiment or something? If you tell me your real name, I can give you a visit and confirm wether your incidence is on the blot or not.</blockquote>
:eek:hh:

I've seen sites where local crime reports are available and wanted to learn where this information originates from. I think there is some value is making this information available to the public (although there are probably some reasons against doing so as well).

These are (partly) the types of data that I am interested in:

<a href="http://www.localcrimenews.com/city/1442/Irvine-crime-news.html">http://www.localcrimenews.com/city/1442/Irvine-crime-news.html</a>

<a href="http://www.ocregister.com/articles/police-crime-blotter-2087460-arrest-burglary?City=Irvine">http://www.ocregister.com/articles/police-crime-blotter-2087460-arrest-burglary?City=Irvine</a>

Where does the Irvine World News (are they still around?), get their data for the Police Blotter they (used to?) publish? Is it available electronically from the Irvine PD?

^^^ or has alot of firearms.

But having an affiar with woman/man married to an officer is a "bad idea" (insert Jack Handy theme music)

Thou shalt not...

murder

commit adultery

steal

bear false witness against your neighbor

covet your neighbor's house

covet your neighbor's wife

Looks like the soon-to-be ex-cop is facing some <a href="http://www.ocregister.com/articles/mcclain-wife-prosecutors-2175833-police-accused">serious charges</a>. What a sick guy he is.

Have anyone else ever wondered why every episode of <strong><a href="http://www.cheaters.com/">Cheaters </a></strong>doesn't end in a storyline like this? Jeesh.
