Costco to accept food stamps nationwide

I wonder how someone who is so poor that they are eligible for food stamps but can then afford to pay the $50 annual Costco membership fee? I almost didn't renew my membership and I don't even qualify for food stamps. Sounds like I might live better a better life on food stamps.

There are people who are on food stamps and unemployed and drive a much better car than you and me, and there are people who make 6 figures, and can't pay off their credit card every month. In America, welfare and wealth are not as black and white as you think (in a way, this is a good thing). From Costco's perspective, this is a good decision.

You can give a one year Costco membership to the fellow with the soiled card board sign at the end of freeway, and don't be surprised that he already is a member.

We had this discussion at my car forum... we're waiting for dirty diapers left in the costco parking lot.... :lol:

My father was confined to a wheel chair and he rolled up to one of these guys. He said he makes about 50-70 a day and with other "gub'ment" help he was making between 300-400 a week. This was nearly 20 years ago. So they weren't doing too bad.
