I moved into my apartment in Turtle Rock mid-July and my internet access was awesome the first 6 weeks. But the last couple I keep losing connectivity. The message says that I have "limited connectivity", translated means no internet access. This happens every day or two, and could be for a couple hours or even all day sometimes. I reboot all my machinery over and over to try and get it to fix itself. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes not.

And this is the weirdest thing...... sometimes I have internet, but somes websites will be blocked by "Netgear Firewall". The thing is that I do not have Netgear. Like You tube for example - some days I get it, and then other days my computer will say it has been blocked by Netgear.

I have no freakin clue what is going on.

Are you certain you are connected to your own wireless network and not some unlocked network in the complex?

Is this a PC or a MAC? Nude/Irvinian sound like they are on the right track. PM me if you want instructions to find out which network you are on.

I am pretty sure that is not the issue. When I lay my pointer over the symbol for connectivity, it says I am connected to the one my husband created for me.

I left a voicemail for my area rep for Cox day before yesterday, but naturally he never responded.

Another weird thing that is happening has to do with another forum I belong to for moms. When I log in to that site every morning after shutting my computer down the night before, my avatar and homepage walpaper and siggy are always purged, and I have to re-upload the photos for them. I thought maybe it was the mom's site doing it, but there are thousands of members, and noone else is complaining about this except me.

It's very frustating because I am just a moron when it comes to hardware issues.

i have a feeling someone is playing a joke on you?

try this:

you are on wireless? find out if you are on wep or wpa. they look similar, but HUGE differences. Get on WPA right away, never use WEP.

Of course make sure your network is password protected.

You might still show as being on the named network, but on a different wireless network. In the case of Vista, it will show the wireless router you are connected to and your networks name in parentheses. for windows, click on big windows menu button, choose Settings, then network connections, then "connect to" and choose your own router.

Or have your husband fix the problem since he set up the network in the first place.

I am sooooo pasting that on the side of my parents' PC. It took them 8 years to get comfortable with the differences between left- and right-click.
