Amen. Fiesta Market in Anaheim is the bomb. The store brand Chipitos tortilla chips are the best. Ever. And Graph was in awe at the variety of meats in the butcher section.

However, I also appreciate the variety available at Mother's. That's where I found Gouda-flavored popcorn. Yum!

Unit #217 (on Memory Lane)
 
I checked it out and found the door unlocked. There is a back pack at the corner of the living room but no sign of utensils. Up in the 3rd floor master bath there is a blanket on the floor but no sign of laundry. I did not see the squatter. You are right a squatter is living there for free. How did you find out about this unit?

I think management=Willie

Being next and across the park is very vulnerable. Homeless sits there all day and observe your daily activities. Break ins and squattering are very likely when adjacent to a public space.
 
I think Willie has a preference for homes with subordinate garage positions. 217 Memory Lane unit has the garage off the alley. House on Riverside has the garage at the back with a long drive.

At this time we can only rule out IHO as a suspect.

All rooms have expansive window exposure except for the interior master bath with sliders for added privacy. It is very difficult to see the Master bath from the outside therefore it is an ideal for Willie's defensible space. Even during the day it is dark there so Willie can sleep in late before starting his mid afternoon workday standing at the freeway off ramp.
 
I walked by the unit today and saw Willie sitting by the parking lot wall across the park. He really has good taste in his selection of architecture to squat in.
 
Wayne the sales manager vacated Willie's belongings today. The unit was unlocked during the day and locked during the night when Willie was home after his work day at Freeway-o-Ramp. Wayne did not see Willie and the unit was very clean without any sign of squatter. Willie did a very good job hiding his trail.

Then just before Wayne trying to lock up I ask him to check the kitchen drawers and cabinets. Inside we found all of Willie's possessions: his back pack, a thick blue high lighter marker, a 1/2 full box of spaghetti, a well used pot, catsups from McDonalds, and Starbucks embossed napkins.

Inside the master bath he also hid his supplies in the drawers: shampoos, soaps, and a towel. 3 pairs of dirty tube socks were hung on the rack to dry. 3 boxers in the cabinet below the sink and one airline type of blanket. One drawer was filled with social security mails with various names like Graphrix. Brochures from Hoag urgent care center was also found. A flash light was also in the drawer.

Many homeless congregate in Santiago park that stretches from the City of Orange to Santa Ana. There are many free social service and health care programs in the civic center thus encourages the OC homeless to linger.

My wife, daughter and I were at Casa Teresa in Orange last weekend at the eastern end of Santiago Park for our renovation volunteer work. In Orange there are many places dedicated to assist homeless families. The place we were at is for pregnant homeless or abused women between 18-42. It is a pro-life organization that helps women to carrying the baby to full term and helping mom to find jobs, home, and family to adopt the babies at the wishes of the mothers. Some stayed there for several years. In this city there are numerous historic properties run by charity foundations dedicated to helping financially challenged families.
 
I just heard the check cashing places in Santa Ana charged a huge transaction fee for check cashing with no ID. The batch of Social Security checks in Willies possession were stolen from unlocked mail boxes I suspect.
 
To add insult to injury, cities often sue developers for creating a public nuisance when squatters move in. I worked for the builder of the Four Seasons Aviara when construction stalled in the early 90s when its Japanese investors went bk. Soon, an army of squatters moved into the unfinished resort and the City of Carlsbad sued the developer to get rid of the squatters, they said it was the developers fault for creating an "attractive nuisance."
