I love parks and noticed a new one being built at the corner of Portola & Jamboree in Tustin Ranch, called Citrus Ranch Park. It is slated for completion in November but won't open to the public until January of 2010. Here is a link to the OC Register article and City of Tustin parks site with photos.

It will include:

2 playgrounds

10 barbecues

16 picnic benches

17 acres of park space

235-foot height of the Vista View Point lookout

1,000 lemon trees

96 parking spaces

$4.4 million cost

Should be a nice addition to the nearby Cedar Park. The OC Register article also mentioned that the next park to be built in Tustin will be the 25 acre sports park in Tustin Legacy.

score one for West Irvine... I remember that patch of land when we lived in Rancho Vera Cruz -TR... I don't think you can actually run through that orange/lemon grove; it was always more for looks...

RoundCorners, you are right, having living in the area for more than a decade, and I take TR road everyday to go to work and drop my kid off at day care I am very happy to see that this lot now fianally put to good use.

I will be there on the opening day of the park when it will be finally open up.
