very nice SoCal ..

Thanks. I just hope her expectation levels haven't been set too high. She seems to STRONGLY suspect it's me now. I really wanted this to be a secret and this is one reason why. Now, she is following me around the store on the clock & off the clock and asking that I donate canned food, children's clothing for all ages, and old shoes so she can ship them to her extended family in the Philippines. I'm feeling the pressure. It's a little bit uncomfortable. I can't really make a commitment because I'm already fully extended each month to helping with various things through church (which also, coincidentally, does benefit the Philippines anyway). I tried gently letting her know I would keep it in mind but that there are a lot of people all over -- in this country and in the world -- who also want help. I gave Mexico as an example. She said, no, the Philippines need it more than Mexico. Each example, I gave her, she came right back and said they, no, they need it more. She hasn't even been to the places I was describing so how does she know? Anyway. Awkward.  :-\ Not sure what I'm going to do now.

On a slightly different note, yet keeping with the subject of Christmas shopping... what do you get the person who has everything? Going to a company Christmas party very soon. The bosses are taking us out and treating us to a really nice evening. I want to get something for our hosts as a "thank you" to give when we see them that night. However, each of them is a multi-millionaire. What could you possibly get that would make sense??!

I think I've reached my goat limit for the month. I already bought one through "Gospel for Asia".  :P Hadn't considered giving one to the boss, though. Hmmm... I'll need to find a sturdier gift bag!

What do you guys want for yourselves for Christmas?

There is really nothing I can think of. I'm fine with nothing. Except hugs. I like hugs. Those are easy to give and receive in unlimited supply. I've decided to start making all of my own bread from now on, though. So I might put a few supplies on my Amazon wish list as it was requested that I make a list. But that is pretty cheap & pointless as a gift. I can just get it myself. I've asked my kids what they want. They say they can't think of anything either. They're the only kids I know who don't ask for anything at Christmas, even when I beg them to give me ideas!! Since they can't come up with anything, I'm thinking about this Money Pizza. Cute idea!!!

Update: I just received amazing news!!

The manager I delivered the gift card to (earlier in the thread) just approached me in the store tonight. My gift made her aware for the first time of how much the employee was/is struggling with everything life has thrown her way. The store adopts a family every Christmas, where all the employees participate. This year, they have decided to adopt this lady and her son!!! WOW. She is going to receive SO much MORE help now! It's store-wide!!! The manager thanked me for bringing this whole situation to her attention and sparking this idea. The store has decided to also do a Target gift card just like me along with other things they are still deciding on. Woah!! The head boss is going to deliver the news to her soon. I wish I could see her face. She is going to lose her mind!!! I saw how excited she got over my gift. She was acting like she won the lotto. I can only imagine how she will feel when she sees what else is in store!! :D She has NO idea what is headed her way!  :)

...amazon has a special sale on what I think you are talking about.

$34 bucks instead of $75.

Nice but, honestly, I am pretty certain she does not have Internet access. Even if she got online, she wouldn't have the funds to buy toys from them.
