Child Safety Thread - Post Your Idea/Experience Here

I got my 4 yr old daughter to ride a bike.  I took off the wheels of the Frozen bike from Target and had her balance on it for a few days (like a balance bike).  Then I put on the pedals and had her do the same.  Took about a week.  Did it on concrete/asphalt.

I tried training wheels, but they are no good.  Taking off the pedals worked really well because she was already use to that bike when you put the pedals back on.

Two separate and distinct ideas for child safety, which have been read 78 times, and ONE PERSON, LiarLoan, has recorded a "thank you."

This indicates that most all readers here are basically a bunch of ingrates.  I won't bother to post any more.  They're not appreciated, and nobody cares enough to contribute their own.

I'm probably poking the bear here but I've seen you post multiple times that you didn't complain about not getting Thank Yous.

How else do you read the above post?

You call "most" of the members "ingrates" and then you continue to say your posts are "not appreciated".

And then you start a whole new thread talking about how no one cares about your posts and what we should do for the community.

You complain that there isn't "simple method" to post pictures on this "pathetic website" and then when we show you there is, instead of recognizing you were wrong, you just continue to post denigrating remarks.

This isn't to say you should not share your opinions, but if this site and its members are not to your liking, why do you continue to post?

Edit: Grammar.

Good point.  Before I made my comments on ingratitude and the readers' failure to contribute ideas to child safety, there was nothing.  AFTER I made those remarks, people responded.  Q.E.D.  As I said, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

As to why I continue to post, it is for the same reason that I pick up litter that lazy people continue to toss on streets and sidewalks.  Humans are imperfect.  Always will be.  I have many good ideas to share, whether or not they are acknowledged or practiced by others.

Finally, I am quite accustomed to being counter-culture, particularly here in Krazy Kalifornia, the sanctuary state which is the most bankrupt state in the U.S.

"Truth will always be paucorum hominem, of few men, and must therefore quietly and modestly wait for the few whose unusual mode of thought may find it enjoyable.  Life is short, but truth works far and lives long; let us speak the truth." - Arthur Schopenhauer

I don't think Starman is a millennial.

You are correct. His multiple use of commas and correct grammar on social media is a dead giveaway.  :)

Well done.  In addition, millennials are pro-socialism.  Like  our Founding Fathers, I lean to the Libertarian side.  But back to child safety:

Please instruct your children and grandchildren to ride their  bicycles on the sidewalk.  I always do and have never gotten a citation for so doing.  I also infallibly yield to pedestrians.  So should your kids.  They have the right of way.  Ride on the grass as they walk past, or  stop and wait.

In Irvine, there's no law against riding a bike on the sidewalk:

Bicycles on any sidewalk is permitted unless prohibited by appropriate signs (Irvine Ordinance Sec. 4-7-210(a).

In memory of a beautiful young woman, Denise Huber, God rest her soul.
Denise was driving home along the 73 Freeway after watching a concert one night.
She suffered a flat tire and pulled over to the side of the freeway in the dark.

Not  ONE man was decent enough to pull over and change her tire so she could proceed home safely.  NOT ONE!  So an evil hyena pretended to want to help her, kidnapped her, took her to his storage room, raped and murdered her.  Then he put her in his freezer for several years.  She was discovered in Phoenix in the back of a stolen U-Haul truck.

How many people failed to report the stolen U-Haul truck, parked in front of the hyena's house for weeks, or months?

How many men failed to stop and render assistance?

How many people failed to pay attention to the street while taking a walk, and walked past screws and nails  instead  of picking them up, to prevent a flat tire, and a horrific crime  such as this?
