As you may have read, plastic surgery is much more common in places like South Korea, etc.

In our days, only the stars and old, rich ladies who wanted to get rid of wrinkles did it.

On Youtube, you can see some of the asian stars' before and after pictures.  Hey, I looked better than some of the before pictures when I was young (Yeah, right, LOL).  But some of the after surgery photos are amazing.

I know a lot of you are still young and hot  :P  but if not, would you have thought about it if plastic surgery was so commonplace as it is now?

Now, now, just because you reply to this post, it doesn't mean you are not young and hot.  :P

Yes, I think about the failures like Michael Jackson (He should have stopped around the time of THRILLER, BEAT IT, etc.  He looked good then), whole Jackson family, Kenny Rogers, I'm sure many others.

Absolutely not.  I would rather be compared to Clint Eastwood or Paul Newman in my old age than someone who has gone in for surgery like Bruce Jenner.

Speaking of Jenner, someone once said I look like Bruce Jenner. I wasn't sure if I should be insulted or complimented. I hope the person meant pre-op Bruce.

In moderation, I feel that it's fine to have work done.  There are many people that just have that look where alterations went too far.

Personally, id never do it though.  I already have a wife out if my league and I don't need to impress.

Oh man... No dude... It's like them girls at clubs where they have tons o makeup on and then like the morning after u see them without makeup and its like "wha da heil, I dun believe!"...

Reminds me of this viral joke

Are you referring to any kind of cosmetic surgery or asking specifically about the kind of cosmetic surgery Asian people have to look western i.e. double eyelid surgery?

I was pretty shocked when I read the story about the Japanese girl who spent $100k to look like a French doll. It is sad, imo, that somebody would want to change their race. The Japanese are beautiful people. Ok she looks pretty but she is completely unrecognizable now!  ??? I don't understand the desire to drastically alter appearance.

i cant believe the girl on the right was previously the girl on the left. CRAZY.  i do have to agree though, she looks much better on the right.

I was referring to any kind of plastic surgery to "better" yourself?  These examples are extreme and those people have some mental issues that can't be fixed with plastic surgery...ala Michael Jackson.

When I was growing up in Japan in the 70s (Japanese-American going to a school run by the US government), honestly, there weren't too many of the cute/handsome, tall, with good figure Japanese people.  :P After I started working and got sent back for training in Japan, I was shocked to see the change happen in only a few years after I left. Darn, I really missed out (especially the women).  :P  Of course, these were not due to plastic surgery.  I guess better diet?  After WWII, people ate whatever they could and I'm sure growth was stunted and it took a few generations to recover.

Back then, Japanese people admired "western" people because they were taller, had long legs, and the women with the nice figures.  Too much movies.  We surely know that's not reality here but that was the image they had of westerners, especially Americans.

I don't know about now since the "Made in Japan" (I'm sure the same in other asian countries) guys and gals don't look bad at all.  :P Well, we'll always have westerner envy to a point.

Maybe I'll sell my Irvine home and get $100K of plastic surgery to look like "fill in the blank here with the name of a U.S. movie star".  :P
I guess $100K of plastic surgery here will only get you an ear job?
