Carpet for stairs only

I would like to get carpet install for stairs only ( currently have wood floor ).
Would want to keep wood stairs under carpet since carpet would be for only 4-5 years.
Once my son is grown I would remove the carpet from stairs.
Any recommendation for contractors and materials?

So you have tile or hardwood everywhere but the stairs?

Yes I want to do runner.

I've tiles downstairs, wood on stairs and on second floor.
I am just concerned over my two and half years old. He might slip while running.
I've safety gate but sometime it's not there and he likes to go up and down on stairs lot
