SRS light is the safety restraint light. Most likely, something is a miss in the airbag system. It could be a sensor, or a fuse. The bad news, you can't use the OBD-II code reader to find and clear the code. I wouldn't take it to the stealership, but I would take it to a mechanic, who has the tool to reset it. The last thing you want is for your airbag to go off randomly.
 
Thats an Airbag issue. SRS=Supplementary Restraint System. Your Honda is thowing a code to the computer regarding something a miss in the airbag system. Getting someone as stated above to get the code off your car and then look it up. Post it here if you want. My son was a Honda nut before he got his Subaru and has most of those codes and what they mean. I think Autozone will give you a code print for free. Knowledge is power and money when it comes to cars.

When did your SRS light just come on? Were you in an accident recently or the airbag ever deploy in the past? If that's not the case, it may be as someone posted..a fuse blown or just a computer error. try resetting the light by disconnecting your battery terminals . Disconnect the positive and negative cables and let it sit for about 10 min. Then reconnect and see if the light still shows up.

I used to have an Honda Accord and the light came on randomnly..it was a computer gliche. I reset it by disconnecting the battery and it reset the computer...and never came back on. Try it.. you have nothing to lose.
 
Yeah, I looked it up in the manual when it came on. Just said it's something to do with the airbags, which I knew. Just wondering if anyone had encountered false readings with this light.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I need to replace my battery anyway, so I will do that and see if it goes out once I've disconnected the battery. If not I'll see if Auto Zone can tell me what it is.

Profette, I think that's probably likely. I drove from Summersville, WV to Costa Mesa, CA in 38 hours in a 1985 Toyota Celica with the help of a semi-pro pharmaceutical engineer. We stopped 7-8 times for gas and bathroom breaks, but only long enough to take care of business. The I-70 is a dream highway in good weather.
 
My coworker told me about that guy. I thought there was video somewhere, but I haven't looked. In states (I think Ohio?) where there were lots of police, he had a buddy with a helicopter routing him around them.
 
That piece of equipment that the dealer plugs your car into costs between $4000 and $10000 dollars. It doesn't pay for itself, and you can't work on cars without it.

I'd take the Honda with the SRS light to your local Honda specialist or the stealership. Hardin in Anaheim has a good reputation, although I don't do business with them.

OK, I finally broke down and got an iPhone. I've never had an MP3/iPod player before and I want to play it with my car stereo if possible (two earphones = no no). Anyone know how to do this on a 2007 VW Jetta ? Some sort of adapter ?

Look inside the Glove box, and see if there is a jack. If there is a jack, all you need is a cord with side going to the output of your iphone, and the other side goes into the VW jack. You can get the cord from bestbuy, etc.
 
123, you made me tromple on down to my garage (in my pajamas) and check. Lo and behold, I have one ! Now the question is, do you have to drive with the glovebox open while using said cord ? I didn't see any indentation on the glove box door to allow for the cord (if shut). Can you just close it on the cord ?

i think you can close it with the cord sticking out. The cord is thin. It is kind of silly that VW decided to put it inside the glovebox. But then they are Germans, and they think differently - ie. no coffee cup holders. Well at least you have one! Have fun!

make sure you go buy a long cord. I have a 3 ft one, and I don't think it is long enough. You probably need a 6 ft one at a min, so you can easily reach and click while driving.
 
Hey irvine, I went and bought the cord today at Best Buy, it needed a separate adapter to plug into the iPhone. I was all excited and immediately ripped open the packaging in the parking lot (no easy feat, let me tell you). I eagerly plugged it in....it fit snug....and nothing. Looking at my radio I only have buttons for AM, FM or CD...I don't see an AUX setting. I popped out the CD and tried to play it using that mode, nothing. Sigh. Could they possibly have put in the jack but I don't have the correct radio set up for it ?

The VW site says the jack is for an iPod (iPhone has a built in iPod)....so what gives ? V-Dub-opedia - iPod Adapter
