Calling IHB artists to design an IHB T-shirt

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
How about a secretly sarcastic T-shirt? Could make a really sweet picture of a Teddy Bear with a red heart over the heart over a cloud of bubbles on the front. Back would just say "Irvine Housing Blog". It would be one of those shirts that only those that read the blog would get...

I can play with the fonts when I go back and fine tune a real draft version. The current font is based on the blogs front page font, to maintain the theme of the site (hence the green letters) in the logo. The symmetry still needs some adjusting, but I should have a final draft ready for viewing tomorrow.

Keep the ideas coming, people. I can always do a wraparound text with the website address for the t-shirt version. In fact....I might make a few versions of the same design so they can be used on different mechandise. We need an IHB sports bottle and a coffee mug and a hoodie and bumperstickers and frisbees and...*head asplode*

Love it Nude ! The bubbles are the best. And I agree that www.irvinehousingblog.com needs to be somewhere on it. How about the word Schadenfreude (sp?) on the flip side of the shirt ?

+1 vote for the Mr. Bubble

+1 vote to include Schadenfreude

Nobody knows what IHB means. I think we need a really in-your-face t-shirt that clearly states the market's insanity and carnage to come. Perhaps something to make fun of the NINJA loans.

I like the bumper sticker idea. I'll put it on my paid-off-'05-tacoma parked under the carport in my appartment complex

It's official, I'm going to focus on the basic logo work first. When that gets final approval, then I'll start putting the logo into a design meant for t-shirts.

I read this thread daily, not just for the rabid adulation of all my fans, but also for the ideas and suggestions in the comments. There are several good ideas that will get some play I am sure; web addy is a given, some of the slogans are pretty funny, as well as the layout suggestions. Somethings just aren't going to happen, like the parody Mr.Bubble stuff. It's one thing on the internet, it's another when someone sells an unlicensed image on merchandise for profit. I don't think zovall's into getting sued. If the blog sells a logo on a t-shirt or bumper sticker or whatever, it has to be original or licensed artwork.

So, keep the suggestions and feedback coming. Also, my wife says not to compliment me too much, as she has to put up with my ego while you all spend your carefree days thousands of miles away from the awesomeness of my presence. For some reason, she thinks I'm stuck on myself.

How about an upside down statue of St. Joseph (www.stjoseph.com) to represent the hope of selling with the words www.irvinehousingblog.com in a circle around the statue (to represent the seventh circle of hell). The URL lettering could by in red Satanic style lettering, with flames around it to represent the 7th circle of hell.

OMG, the statue thing is hysterical ! Like, have the top half disappearing in the shirt, with the legs sticking out ! LOL ! The religious folk might not get a kick out of it though.....the "satanic style writing" idea creeps me out..... I don't particularly like that "circle of hell" phrase thingy anyway....my .02 cents.

And shouldn't we be consulting a Feng Shui expert on the styling of the tee shirt ? Can we embed a small mirror on the right shoulder ?

Hey Trooper!

Nice to see you around! I thought of you last night, as I was in your neck of the woods... went to see "Pink Martini" at the Hollywood Bowl!

GITOC

Oh man, I was working until 7:00...trying to manuever around all of you "Bowligans". I sat in the Bowl parking lot eating lunch yesterday ! funny ! I listened to some of the sound check !

We had a picnic before, at about 6:30 PM in Picnic area 10... maybe that's where you parked!

Pink Martini was great! Highly recommend taking a look at them if you haven't already heard them...

Funny, I was actually looking around thinking I may see you!

what do you think of this?

Keep in mind, it's probably going to be this big on the site:

edit: imaged deleted
