California Covid Bills coming up for vote this month:https://calmatters.org/health/coronavirus/2022/03/california-vaccine-laws/
(Note: AB1993 has been put on hold due to public push back.)

Of particular interest to parents:
SB866 - Lowers consent for certain medical procedures including vaccines to age 12. This means children as young as 12 may receive certain medical treatments without parental consent or knowledge.
SB871 - Adds Covid vaccine to list of required childhood immunizations for public/private schools regardless of FDA approval (i.e. can be under EUA only) Note: such requirement may not be just for a one time covid immunization but also include successive required boosters

The next California legislative session begins in December 2022 where re-elected or newly elected officials will have an opportunity to introduce their bills. Vote according to your view, but know the delay is election related.

Where is the science to show the vaccine mandate for children is worth the risk?

That's right you cannot find any ..

In light of this kind of political climate, iho is putting his faith behind the self claimed medical doctor in TI regarding COVID, even if the doctor is real, you have to wonder between paycheck and ethics, what would this doctor choose?

In regards to the bill that would punish Dr's for questioning and voicing opinions.  The basis of science is to question.

"What Is Scientific Inquiry? Scientific inquiry is a form of problem-solving and questioning that helps people come to a greater understanding of observable phenomena. An understanding of this style of scientific reasoning forms the basis upon which the nature of science itself rests."https://www.masterclass.com/articles/scientific-inquiry

Misinformation has hurt the pandemic response but AB 2098 might do more harm than good. I worry about free speech and stifling scientific debate. Doctors can still be held accountable by the California Medical Board for unprofessional activities.

"Will any of California's ambitious COVID bills pass?

...the three most controversial bills from the working group have been shelved. One would have required all schoolchildren to get vaccinated, and another would have made all employees in California show proof of vaccination. A third would have required that local law enforcement officials enforce public health orders.

...The working group?s remaining bills under consideration include proposals to require schools to create official testing plans; update the state?s immunization registry ; and designate the promotion of misinformation [contrary views and research] by doctors as unprofessional conduct [who will decide what "misinformation" is?].

...[also] still in play is Senate Bill 866. Introduced by state Sens. Scott Wiener and Richard Pan, it would allow children 15 and older to be vaccinated, including against COVID-19, without a parent?s consent or knowledge. The first version of the bill proposed an age limit of 12, but its authors raised it to garner more support."

The Covid19 bills that were introduced: (Some have already been shelved but others are still in play.  Some bills have been updated.  Go to: https://calmatters.org/health/coronavirus/2022/03/california-vaccine-laws/, this site has links for each bill that shows text of the bill and status.  Specifically, go to "History" tab to see current status of the bill, and go to the "Text" tab to see what the bill is about.)

    SB 871 would require all children 0 to 17 to get the COVID-19 vaccine to attend child care or school;
    SB 866 would allow kids 12 to 17 to get the COVID-19 vaccine without parental consent;
    SB 1479 would require schools to continue testing and to create testing plans;
    SB 1018 would require online platforms to be more transparent about how information is pushed out to consumers;
    SB 1464 would force law enforcement officials to enforce public health orders;
    AB 1993 would require all employees, including independent contractors, to show proof of COVID-19 vaccine to work in California;
    AB 1797 would make changes to the California Immunization Record Database;
    AB 2098 would reclassify the sharing of COVID-19  ?misinformation? by doctors and surgeons  as unprofessional conduct that would result in disciplinary action.

Gavin wants to run for President.

He vetoed the legal injection centers yesterday. (Not saying that?s a bad thing). Just shallowly political.

I think it's great that the governor is becoming more of a moderate Democrat.

Is disparaging TI members something you live for?

You're so tough.

Do the forum a favor and keep the commentary on the topics.
