Compare apples to apples, the OH home with a total tax of 1.4% and an Altair home with a total tax of 1.8% will have an actual difference less than .4% because of the cost difference in the homes and the biggest portion of that tax percent is based on 1.1% purchase property tax rate, the remaining Mello roo is a flat rate. If that difference makes one of the homes unaffordable for you, you need to lower your budget and not go for either.
