You realize Indy clinched that division when they had an 8-5 record?  It was probably the worst division in the NFL with the NFC east just ahead of it.  Russell wilson could definitely have beaten the Jaguars 2x, the Texans 2x, the titans 2x and found a way to win 2 of the other games.  Especially if he had Reggie Wayne for most of the year.  Somehow Russell wilson bumbled and stumbled his way into a 14-3 record this year with his 2 starting WRs out for the season (Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin).

At best Luck is phillip rivers 2.0.  If you doubt that - with your team up by 4 pts and less than 1 minute left... do you fear Luck's ability to win the game?  Another way to look at this - who is more clutch right now than Russell Wilson?  Drew Brees? Aaron Rodgers? Tom Brady or Peyton Manning?

Everyone wants to say Luck's the second coming of Peyton Manning - but he's still not able to do what guys like Rodgers have (with no running game before this year), Tom Brady - no receivers this year and a couple years in the past. So i think folks wanting to crown him as elite have a long way to go before he earns that designation.  He belongs in that same conversation with guys like Matt Ryan, and maybe the current Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning.

wilson is anything but clutch. he is the black mark sanchez, except he runs better.  the main reason seattle is is the superbowl is the D, no ifs ands or buts about it. they are the baltimore ravens 2.0 from several years ago when they had that awesome D or the tampa bay Bucs with Dilfer.

Ouch, you're comparing Wilson to Mark Sanchez?  :P  Sure Wilson was playing better earlier this year but...please.

Believe me, Seattle's had more than their share of terrible quarterbacks so I know Wilson's much, much better than what we had before.  And, I'm appreciative that coach Carroll had the smarts to select Wilson over that other overpaid career backup.  Or, the Seahawks could still be the Seahacks.

It's only a matter of time before Wilson gets tagged with the dreaded game manager title, the next Alex smith. Smith is better than Wilson. Yes he wins, my point is a lot of other QBs would win there as well. You give him to much credit for the wins there. It's all about the D. He throws a lot less than luck does cause the run and don't have to pass as much cause of that D

I'm not saying it's easy to win superbowll with great defenses, my point was occasionally they do and if they Seahawks win this year it's won't be because of Russell Wilson, it will be because the d shutdown Payton manning. We are both saying somewhat the same thing to varying degrees, we just give different amounts of credit to Wilson. What Wilson is very good is not turning the ball over. He doesn't lose the game for them. But it's the defense and running game that wins it for them. When his contract is up I'm sure he is going to get upwards of 15M year and that is going to eat a lot of the salary cap and some folks in the defense will look elsewhere for their money cause they won't be able to pay everyone and then will see what Wilson can really do. Luck may put himself in some holes but to his credit his passing ability got him back in the games and wins in a lot cases. I don't think Wilson is capable of carrying the team on his back the way Luck can/does.

I'm bringing queso fundido over to his place :)

damn! why am i just seeing this! missed opportunity :-(

queso fundido with chorizo is perhaps one of the top 5 foods in the world.

damn, didnt see this coming. thought denver would win but could see seattle winning, just didnt think it would be like this.
seattle reminds of the the defensive teams in the NBA that get away with tons of fouls. i have never seen a team get away with so many pass interferences. not that it would have made a difference in the outcome but if seattle would have done the same thing that the denver player got a flag for pass interference in the endzone there would not have been a flag, but of course its denver and they get the flag. even when Thomas for denver caught the pass in the endzone, the guy had to twist to catch the ball, why did he have to twist to catch the ball? cause the defensive back for seattle was draped all over his waist. in any event, the defense was awesome.  wilson played well also, but he played his typical game manager role.  wait till that defense isnt top notch and he has to carry a team and we will see how good he really is. they will be really good again next year but after and maybe 2015, that is when wilsons contract will be up and for 2016 he will be a $100M man thats when they wont be able to pay the defensive players. shermans contract is up at the end of the 2014 season and the guy is going to want 13-15M/year and then other defensive players will start to leave for paychecks everywhere in particular because they would have already gotten their superbowl ring so then it will be time to get PAID.

I liked the Doritos Time Machine commercial:

I agree with qwerter, it was more Seattle's defense (and Denver's lack of defense) than Wilson who won that game. Pressuring P*E*yton, good coverage and disrupting his passes to cause turnovers were key. Kam Chancellor impressed me more than Sherman... and it's fitting that a defensive guy (Smith) wins the MVP.

yeah i was watching the game. the next time an opportunity presents itself ill be there to capitalize :-)
