Brett Favre Thread

I have been a Packer fan since I was 5 years old....my high school yearbook quote is, "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing." Vince Lombardi

But yes, even though I'm a Cheesehead, I think it's time for Brett to move on....

I'm a Vikings fan.

What an ugly scenario.

Favre, playing for Vikes on the Monday Night Football opener in Lambeau field.

The uglier side is how much of the future would the Vikes or Bears give up to get that one or two year shot? Two years, tops.

Uglier still is Favre's tendency to think he can tell the team management what to do.

I'd welcome him to the Vikes. :) Just don't give it all away. He's done in a year or two.

Right on --- Vikings fan here too. Nothing I enjoy more than seeing the Packers franchise in turmoil. I've never been much of a Brett Favre fan, but would like nothing more than to see him in purple --- just to stick it to those cheeseheads.

Sorry, Trooper.... ;-)

No matter how ridiculous this story is, it still beats baseball :) I hope it carries through August so that I can listen to this on ESPN radio instead of baseball chatter.

You finally gave me a reason to dislike you CK. Vikes... Yuck. Not a Favre fan?! That means you are not a football fan my friend! The Gunslinger might be a little off target sometimes, but he comes to work EVERYDAY and improvises unbelievably well despite his athletic limitations. Go Pack!

Please, no blasphemy here. :shut:

lol -- ok ipo, I'll give you that Brett does tend pull off the amazing more often than not, and admit my disdain for him is entirely related to the fact he is usually working his magic (or is it dumb luck?) on my beloved Vikes. If by some twist of fate Brett were to slip on purple this fall, I'd be his biggest fan. But until that day, the Pack-Vikes bad blood runs deep....

[quote author="skek" date=1218153023]There are certain players who will forever be associated with one team. Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers are one example. For that reason, today is a sad day. Brett Favre...a New York Jet? Sad times.</blockquote>

Indeed, Favre will always be a Packer to me. GB f'ed up that whole situation.

Lord knows the Jets needed a QB. Kellen Clemens is a 60-rated QB, and belongs as a backup...

Except for this summer. The only drama with the Lakers concerns whether or not Sasha will upgrade his hair thingy now that he has a phat contract.

Sorry Ipop, Favre f-d it up. Farve, I'm retiring, oh wait not this year, Hire the guy I want, okay then, I'm retiring, oh wait I'll play another year, I'm retiring, retired, oh wait, I want to play...

He's a great QB but ...

So he is a little overly prone to buyers remorse... Too much so.

Doesn't change the fact that GB would win more games with him vs. Rogers. Last time I checked, the goal of an NFL franchise was to win games, makes the playoffs, and get their mits on this:

Except those days are gone for Green Bay, with or without Favre. They're in rebuilding mode, you don't rebuild around a legacy.

Remember, I'm a Vikings fan, I know disappointment.

bump....wow, if there were a find and replace function I could just replace the "2008" with "2009" on these posts...

I like how he conveniently missed training camp and I don't buy the story about his daughter crying about how she didn't want him to re-re-retire.
