Brady's "Sacrifice"

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Yeah he didn't give up anything. A black quarterback could have done the same deal and they would have been all over how he didn't really give anything back and actually was greedy for getting more money :-)

I didn't read the article bc my computer and phone crashes every time I click on something with gang green in the link. But of course someone will make this about race.  :)  when really, if jay cutler did this, he would get flamed.

He also makes money through endorsements. His wife makes mega dollars also.  :P

He will be okay taking a pay cut.

@qwerndella -- I dont think anyone but Brady would have gotten this kind of media fawning.  That's why it reminded me of the harassment skit.

@bones- it's a good article, despite the source.

@eyephone- he's actually getting a $1M pay increase.

This one puzzles me.  I guess 99.99999%'ers like myself wouldn't understand anyway.  :P He was pretty much guaranteed $24 mil over three years and for a "measly" mil per year, he would do away with the guarantee?  I understand that there's still the injury guarantee but anything else seems to go.
Well, he's coming back next year I assume unless his wife comes at him with a golf club.  :P  So, two years of risk?

You know how fast "great" quarterbacks like Eli Manning went from "Hall of Famer" to goat in short order.  Weren't they writing that Brady wasn't any good any more just a short while ago?  QBs like the one for the Ravens got their humongous pay raise a few years ago and I don't think he's going to relinquish whatever guarantee is in his contract.

I would think with the deal for the Patriots, there might be a gentlemen's agreement in there.  He must still have lots of confidence in his abilities and if he lost a year or two, it's not the end of the world for that power couple, I guess.

Or maybe he will retire within this time span and that guaranteed money will go towards buying into the patriots.  If I was him - with millions in the bank, a hot wife with more earning power, kiddos - why put on the pads every sunday and get hit?  That's why Eli sucks this year.  He doesn't want to get hit.  He's already got rings, got $...

It's a win win for Brady. He already got the big money upfront as bonuses. If they cut him say after next year he gets at least $15M/year from any team.
