I have a guess, but I won't say it here because I'm afraid I might be right --- and it sounds like BK wants his Firm to remain in the shadows. But I think I got it, BK.
 
I owe BK a huge debt of gratitude.



He made an observation (I paraphrase) that I would find no peace in the city. And I started thinking?yeah, about that. Thanks for giving me the nudge, BK. I owe you more than words can describe, or actions can show.



Unfortunately, that also means I won?t ever own a BK approved house (there just aren?t any ?20s homes built there of good construction that are still around) but at least now I can articulate the difference between the really good housing and the crap that they sell now.

Thank you, BK, for sharing your expertise on a variety of subjects. When it comes time to sell, I will place a rice cooker on the counter and price it low to make up for the staircase at the front door and the "4" in the house number. I might even get a ba gua mirror.

BK is feeling a little disappointed so for now anyway, he doesn't have plans to join the new boards. And I was only ever on IHB because he spent so much time here. The IHB was never really my thing.. that being said I've been gathering folks contact information so that we can keep in touch. Graph, SoCal, No Vas.. all know how to reach us. And its not like you dont know where we live. :p



Anyhow thanks to everyone for being so gracious and well.. nice to BK and to myself. I will keep checking the PM's until the end of the day thursday if anyone else want to get in contact with us.

Like most of us, when I come to browse the forums, my eyes seek out anything new BK has posted. More than anyone here this man has shaped so much of our view of homes and architecture. I can't tell you all how many times I have looked at a house and said something silly to myself like, "bk would approve" or worse, "bk would cringe." I now understand why I like what I do in houses and what can give a face lift to a sorry asser home.



We've been doing a lot of relandcaping in the front to reduce the lawn, but I'm still hell bent on implementing a path to the front door because I truly understand/see what BK was saying when he suggested this improvement to our eye sore. I tried to explain to hubby what it would do for the eye, but he just couldn't see, so then I told him it was bk's suggestion, assuming he would just grasp that. He didn't and I realized that I had this immense respect for an icon that he didn't know and I just was clueless about how to give the bookshopper (as I call him) the credentials I took for granted because it's well, it's bk.



If BK doesn't follow, the new community will be severely deprived of a critical pillar that makes it as special as it has been.
 
stepping_up states it well.



Whenever I see a thread that bk has posted in, even if the subject isn't something I am interested in, I'll click on it because it will either be a post that is very insightful or educating, extremely humorous, or a volley towards my face that I need to defend against.



It's Day 3 and he's still not at TalkIrvine. Looks like I'm going to need to weld the armor plating and put the bulletproof glass on the minivan to pay someone a visit.
 
Wow people take this board so seriously. BK, sorry to hear you're not moving over. If I knew the board meant this much to you, I would've never started harassing you at a place you enjoyed coming to so much. The people make the site what it is and why you enjoyed being here. Quit being an old dog and accept change and move over to talkirvine. Sure, the new site will be limited to sr members and bears, but isn't that what most of you guys only like/acknowledge?



Childplease will not be moving on to talkirvine...sad I know, but I can only imagine guys like Nude having mod access and banning/blocking my posts...censoring/limiting content...sort of like what everyone is accusing Larry? of doing now that there's a conflict of interest.



This board would've broken up soon enough on it's own. Eventually, when housing & the economy turns for the better, the bears holding out now would eventually buy, public opinion would sway and instead of all the topics bashing housing, foreclosures, it'd turn to more personal (should I buy this house?...link attached) or off topic discussions resulting in less interest (education) and traffic.



And many on this board are pretty negative and sometimes seem to enjoy others misfortune, i.e. NUDE. So when the economy, jobs and housing get better they'd have nothing to write about and ultimately leave.



Anyways, I lurked on this board for a couple years before posting and thanks to most for all your posts.



Btw, don't make me bash you on talkirvine so you AND your wife have to join...we both know even though you're in the park doing tai chi everyday and scaring all the white kids, that zen master jedi mind trick powered brain of yours is no match against your childish desire to respond and retaliate...in all our interactions, you've yet to let me have the last word.

Nah, I just gave you a hard time cause whenever I read your posts it seemed so judgemental in a negative way. Nothing personal since I have no idea who you are or how you are in real life. If I ever offended you, my apologies and sucks to hear you're not moving over either, especially if the sr members were so near and dear to you.
 
Even though I'm not in the top 10 and not entitled to a free consult, I learned so much for reading BK's posts. I will always be

grateful for what I learned. I also appreciate BK's sense of humor!



I am delighted to hear from Trooper. I've missed her so much. She has also educated the members of the IHB community, teaching

us about the struggle for equality in America today. We need her voice now more than ever.

The new site is not limited to senior members and bears. Take my word, that is certainly not what I like or acknowledge, else I would not have created it. It would be good to have some new blood; I don't think anyone would disagree. You should come on over. Chevy and Larry aren't the ones killing the forum, it's the people who contribute and enjoy coming here but are refusing to move to the new site. Just saying as a non-senior member who knows none of you personally and who is unbiased to this whole situation.



During my beef w/ BK, he PM'ed me about how I should continue to post and not be a quitter or leave and to get to know everyone, contribute, etc etc...take your own advice. I don't know, maybe it runs deeper and because I'm not committed to this forum like most here, I just don't get it.



FYI to the mods at talkirvine. You better lock in BK's screenname soon or I'm going to sign up w/ his name and preach about the wonders of the california room.



And one day, I'll join you guys there...just not yet. I offer no value...I joke and start random drama. I'll let the forum get back its street cred of being a valuable resource before I try to bring it down again.
