In an effort to actually get Indie to take a bet, as well as actually doing some good for society with all of these high earners on this site, i would like to use this thread to make bets with the proceeds going directly to charity. The loser makes a donation in the amount of the wager to the winners choice of charity. Bet whatever you are comfortable with. We can use the honor or we can post a receipt (with personal info blacked out of course) to show proof of the donation being made.

So here goes the first bet. I would like to propose the first bet to Indie.

Indie - not sure if you are a basketball fan, but i will wager $250 that miami heat will win the NBA title this year. I take miami you take the field. Just so we are clear on the purpose of the bet, it is to raise money for charity. I dont want you to be confused and start to wonder about my financial situation and whether it is within your principles to take my money. It is plain and simple, the money goes to charity.

If i win you donate $250 to www.fochp.org or http://gsroc.org/    If you dont have a paypal account they both have links from the paypal donation page that allow you to donate by credit card as a guest without an account.

So Indie - will you take my bet? Im guessing if you consider 100K to be paltry, this must be like a penny for you and will take the bet.

Alright - USC is in. Indie??

USC - no way they choke man. They lost today to the lakers, but they did not have Bosh.  I actually did not know that and was going to place a wager on the Heat over the lakers. Good thing for me i fell asleep on the couch before the start of the game and then it was too late to get my bet in.

The reason they won't win is because LeBron is scared to take the big shot in the last seconds (fear of failure) unlike Kobe.  Bosh is a slightly above average Center so I doubt his presence would have prevented the Lakers from winning today.  I wanted to bet the UNDER (194), now that was like stealing but I was out and about showing homes and forgot to call my dad to make the bet.
 
I'm not betting but I'm with qwerty on his assessment of the Heat.

Bosh makes a difference and you forgot that Wade fouled out in today's game.

I still find it weird everyone thinks you have to take that last shot to be the man... Magic made a career out of passing for the win... and he's one of the greatest Lakers ever.

Lets go with www.fochp.org

just click on the "Make A Donation" button on the upper right of the home page. Then if you have a paypal account just log in, otherwise, towards the bottom of the page you can click on "Dont have a paypal account" and fill in your credit card info.

It was a pleasure doing business with you.  That was a damn good call you made putting 700 on the heat.  Did you play the spread as well or just the money line?

I was thinking of doing a combo ML and str8 up bet but then I just said screw and go with the ML bet.  I'll make the donation tomorrow (too lazy to go to the car to get my wallet).

Yup, its in the garage in a special compartment.  :-X  I usually buy take out for dinner so it's more convient than leaving it in my pocket.  Besides I was already in bed and didn't feel like going to the garage last night.
