Batfleck?

Wow, really? That sounds about as weird as say, John Krasinski, playing Batman. (And I love J.K.) How funny.

Btw, Christian Bale is pretty hot! I'm surprised you don't think so too. I know you love Ryan Gosling and C.B. is 1,000x dreamier than R.G.

I liked bale in Nolan's Batmans... One of my favorite actors after Ed Norton... try American Psycho.. Machinist.. and one of my favorite B movie flicks.. Equilibrium.. Reign of Fire is decent as well...

Oh wait.. you must like the Clooney Batman and that Austrian dude as Mr. Freeze :)

I thought Bale made a great billionaire Bruce Wayne.  Just the right amount of panache, class and youthful cockiness.  But I won't forgive them for making him do the Cookie Monster voice in garb--that was just awful.  And let's be honest-- for much of the movie, the costume was 10x the actor the person inside of it was.  Batman Begins was an exceptional movie otherwise.  Ben Affleck?  Too much of a putz to be either Bruce Wayne or Batman.  Vs. Gosling?  Only if you're showing off the abs.  :)

So who will be the Joker?  Matt Damon?  haha... no one will come close to Ledger's Joker.. still gives me the creeps...

If he was bad, who was better?

Adam West? Michael Keaton? Val Kilmer? George Clooney?  You can't just say he's bad without providing a better alternative.
Sure I can... if I think they are all bad.

Bale's Wayne was horrible, non-charismatic, too emotional and too hung up on women... not the playboy, jetsetting, philanthropic Wayne as he is in the comics. His Batman was worse... that gravelly BatLisp was comical, to the point where it's parodied everywhere.

Out of that list, the best Wayne could go to Kilmer or Clooney with the edge to Clooney because he exuded that offsetting charm with a hint of deviousness behind it. It's hard to compare those Batman's to Nolan's Dark Knight because they were intended to be a bit campy (I didn't really agree with those portrayals either).

I think Affleck can do a good Wayne. While he is tall (6'4") which is good, physically he doesn't seem bulky enough or ripped enough... but he has 2 years to work out.

My choice for Batman? Joe Manganiello. He's tall, ripped like me (*dreaming*), and has the charisma to play Wayne (and if a growling Batvoice is a requirement, he did so as a werewolf on True Blood).

Discounting how bad Ben was in Daredevil, I think he's a great choice for the next Batman.  Obviously is a great actor.  It all hinges on how well the movie is written.

I thought Bale was excellent.  <shrug>

I actually pulled out my old DVD of Daredevil... it's not as bad as I (and everyone else remembers). You can even imagine DD as Bats... and... no BatLisp!

I don't see how it has to be a "good" actor to play Batman... it's not like his two personas are complex (three actually).

1. Bruce Wayne: Just smile, be cocky, act like you own the world (you're rich enough) and get the ladies.

2. Batman - World's Greatest Detective: Be smart, be a master strategist, figure out things the police cannot.

3. Batman - The Dark Knight: Strike fear into criminals, make those who fight you scared to fight you.

I think Affleck can pull all 1 and 2 off... but 3, he just doesn't seem intimidating enough although I haven't seen The Town yet. Based on comments on the 'Net, his performance in The Town is pretty good.

Everyone knows that Affleck, Damon, Smith are all kind of nerdy actually... so why wouldn't Affleck jump at the chance to play Bats? People doubted Damon in the Bourne series but now people can't imagine Bourne without him (although Renner did okay).

And unlike Clooney, I don't think Affleck really cares all that much about his "mistakes"... which is probably why WB chose him, easy to work with.

^^^Does that equal taking IHO's man card?
Silly Tyler... real men don't need a man card... everyone knows just by looking at me.

Guys like Homie, though, need to carry one because it's questionable when you look at his manscaped eyebrows.  ;)

Not so fast. I taught Homer everything he needed to know about having perfect eyebrows. (Homer, did you study my Facebook profile pic? You've never seen more perfect eyebrows than that, you've got to admit!) So, gimme my card back, Iho!

So horrible... The Expendables is where old actors go to get screen time, you don't even have to be an "action" hero. Sly should think about adding Mr. T to the roster since he already has Drago (Carl Weatherspoon too).
