Either buy a more fuel effecient vehicle or do more sales.  Agents in lower cost market areas have to deal with rising gas prices as well and they only make about 1/2 the commission on a transaction.

If an agent goes to a listing on average 20 times, 30 miles away outside their area (roundtrip 60), in a car with 20 mpg (mostly highway), with gas up $2/gallon, we're talking and extra $120. Agents aren't taking listings because of the rising gas prices? Realtards.
