I, too, used to detest avocados. Something happened to me as I got older and my tastes changed. Now I can't get enough of them. I LOVE my avocado, cheese, cucumber and tomato sandwiches on wheat. Sooo yummy!!!

As a kid I too hated Avocados. But with adulthood. Tastes change. You have not lived until you have an "Chasu Avocado Taco". Sliced Barbecue Pork Loin, Tomatoe, Avocado, Lettuce, Teriyaki sauce in a tortilla.

Rarely do the homes come up the market. Nancy Grace and I checked regularly before finding this one. We are spoiled in this neighborhood where there are no 2 homes alike. The homes currently listed need a lot of work. As you can see I am trying to discourage you from buying. The yard is way too big and here is a picture of the no man's land behind the 4 car tandem garage:

wow, this sure is a popular thread. BK's tree makes mine look like a wimp, but it was nice to see that it had two trunks. I have another one that is about 15 feet tall, but it is two trunks not very wide in diamater yet and hasn't fruited yet.

Thanks to IR for the tip on picking with the stem. How do you know when they are ready to be picked? Many of mine fell off, so we tossed them. They never looked ready to be picked. I picked one last week and put it in the window sill to see if it would ripen up. They just seem much harder and greener than the unripe ones you buy in the store.

I have at least 60 more still on the tree. At one point there were hundreds, but they fell on the ground, most of them half eaten by a critter of some sort. Cayci, we're around this weekend if you and Graph want to come pick some. I like avocados, especially with a little salt and a dollop of olive oil and vinegar... red wine, jerez or balsamic. My husband on the other hand does not, not even guacomole so it would be great if some of these went to someone who really likes them.

I can't swim. I was almost drown when I was 8. I was playing in a uphill circular tunnel above ground. It was about 4-1/2' diameter and about 600 foot long. Not knowing it was a storm drain culvert that collected water from a 5,000 acre hillside I went up 1/2 way while it was dried but a tropical rain dump way too much water and I nearly died in the retention lake after I was washed out. The area I learned later was named "Haunted Soul Lake" by the locals. I have stayed away from water ever since.
