Also for LA/OC can use this:

Hello La-La Land! Customers in Greater Los Angeles and Orange County can get $20 off their Prime Now order of $50 or more with promo code LATRYNOW.

Make sure to tip?

Tried it yesterday. Items were at the door as I came back from work. No need to stop by Target after work to get some basic household items. If Amazon gets the pricing right for most regular household items (i.e. comparable to Target / Walmart), I'd use it more and more often.

Ditto. Ordered at 8pm. Delivery at 10pm. With the $20 off $50, it's a no brainer to try at least once.

I believe the deliveries are by private individuals - a la uber (hence the tip?). I think Amazon has used such services in the past to prepare for this.

They were about 2 hours late for my delivery, even though Amazon reported as delivered (at which point you are unable to track where the package is in the Amazon Now app).

How were the cold items packaged?  I'm low on milk.  Or I can buy 8 cases of Aquafina 24 pack water.  With the $20 off, it's about the same price as buying in store.

SoCal and California is not yet on the available areas though (I guess OnTrac is still doing fine and still cheap enough)
https://flex.amazon.com/

Make $18?25/hr delivering packages for Amazon with your car and smartphone. Be your own boss: deliver when you want, as much as you want.

Available now in Seattle. Coming soon to Manhattan, Baltimore, Miami, Dallas, Austin, Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Portland.

You'll need an Android phone as a requirement, I'm out

me too... They should just have given a free Fire Phone to the drivers rather than giving it away technically for almost free all over ebay :)

I thought it was. I did a zip code search and it said it was.
I think you are confusing Prime now with flex.. Flex is their uber version to deliver Prime Now items.

Ahh... I thought you were saying Prime Now is not available in SoCal.

I see now you were talking about Flex.

Did my first order today. Ordered at 3:30 and was here at 4:40. Pretty impressive. Looks like their fulfillment center is just south of barranca.

The order was 55 less 20 off. So 35 then I tipped 7. Not sure how often I'll use it. Don't care for the tipping in particular since the prices are inflated to begin with. There was something I wanted for my kid so had to order shit I didn't need to get to 50 to get the 20 off.  But still a service that is nice to have when u need something fast that isn't in your local store.

Do you have to tip? I thought they use regular delivery services like FedEx.

You don't have to tip. Foe prime now they use contract drivers, not fedex or ups. so if you wanted to make some extra money you could do it on the weekends :-)

Tipping the Amazon delivery guy!?!?  My gosh, I'm certainly not answering the doorbell when my PrimeNow order comes.
