Got this for $80 from Staples with a 20% off coupon a few weeks ago.

Highly recommend that you install XBMC. Very easy to install.

What are you using XBMC for? I already have the following that is somewhat smart in my living room:

Core i7 Laptop w/8gb RAM & SSD connected via HDMI w/ wireless keyboard & touchpad
Vizio Smart TV w/Netflix, Youtube, Vudu, Amazon Instant Video and plays Videos, Pictures and Music from my NAS
Samsung Blu-Ray that basically does what the Vizio does but it's slow
Pioneer Receiver that can airplay music from iTunes or Apple devices (iPad / Iphone) and can play music from internet radio / NAS

I don't think I need an Amazon Fire TV given that it seems to duplicate the Vizio / Samsung.

To stream media from my NAS and also from Icefilms  (http://www.icefilms.info). There are actually lots of addons available to stream from many sources.

You could install it on your laptop actually.
