It's my understanding that the city of AV charges homeowners a fee for the use of parks, sports fields, etc. Can any residents tell me how much this is? I believe the charges are incurred quarterly.

Also, if you know of any other OC cities that follow this practice as well please include in your response. Thanks in advance!

I believe it is around $200 a quarter but I honestly can not remember. I know Mission Viejo charges all residents $16 or was it $18 a month for the maintenance of Lake Mission Viejo and it's amenities.

Irvine had added a fee included in your property taxes about 5 years ago (around $30-40 a year and can increase each year), which is used to maintain the green belts, etc. If you are part of an association, they already maintained it so it was interesting paying twice for the same service when it was only done once! I never saw a city lawnmower trailing the association lawnmower.

I actually had a question regarding Aliso amenities as well. I know they are building a swimming complex in Aliso Viejo in the new development there. I heard this complex is to be open to all residents of Aliso Viejo and not reserved just for the new development. Is this true? Is there any information about the complex I can read?

Thanks Davenlei.

I scoped out the golf course townhomes months ago, and I think they're building the pool in that area. I remember a sales associate telling me that the pool is open to everyone for a fee, except those living in the golf course community.
