A Fair Election

While we are all debating the pros and cons of the candidates, is anyone reassuring the population that this election will be counted fairly and accurately? Lost in the debate seems to be the issue of election accounting and accountability. I do not want to see a repeat of the past with counts and re-counts. Who are the people in charge of ensuring that this election runs smoothly? Are we all comfortable with the Supreme Court making a decision again? Maybe this is a non-issue but I'm looking for some reassurance that these issues have been dealt with and I'm having trouble trusting the government right now.

It cannot be guaranteed as long as we vote with electronic ballots via machines running software that we cannot inspect. The software running those things could be programmed to do anything. They could purposefully change 1% of the votes to a specific candidate. They could have bugs in the SW that does something like it. As a software engineer, I don't understand why governments would use them unless the companies agreed to make the software open source.

Agreed 100%. I'm a software engineer also, and it scares me to death that the code is not available.

They don't need to rig the voting machines.

They already rigged the electorate.

Look at the districts.

And I thought the Democratic gerrymandering was over-the-top, sheesh. And who exactly is Rohrabacher representing on SCI, sage sparrows?

The districts are drawn by the States. When did the Republicans control California?
