Resolutions from the past:

2011:http://www.talkirvine.com/index.php/topic,1359.0.html
2012:http://www.talkirvine.com/index.php/topic,2219.0.html
2013:http://www.talkirvine.com/index.php/topic,3429.0.html

So these 3 usually stay the same:

1. Lose weight
2. Find a home
3. Win my Fantasy Basketball Leagues

I think I might be okay on 2 of those 3 in 2014.

I would like to add another:

4. A 5 to 10 year plan of financial independence

No idea how to do that but it's going to coincide with my kids going to college. I think the fastest way there is to get adopted by Homie.

Happy New Year everyone... may all your resolutions be met.

Since I was the only one who posted resolutions here, I'll post some for my fellow TI'ers:

PS9: Let your trashcans be free, if they really love you, they will come back.

Homie: You must embrace your race!

Tyler and Quattro: Ignore my wife test.

test: Info good, insults bad.

SoCal: No more of your cooking posts, I break my weight resolution just looking at them.

qwerter: Submit your plans to the HOA.

Panda/patstar/roundcorners (and CubicZ): Come back home to TI.

IR2: Learn more FCB lingo. :)

IHS: Junior college then Ivy. ;)

The Irvine Company: Sometimes, more is more.

My resolution to drop some lbs always gets derailed...

My NY resolutions:

  • Keep on advancing in technology
  • Finally launch my startup
  • Spend less money

Happy New Year everyone!  8)

My goals for 2014:

- Be more active (be able to run 2mi straight in 24min)
  * Join a Basketball league or Tennis League
  * Run more with the little ones

- Spend less than I make (goal for every year)
  * Make a budget for 2014 (done)
  * Keep my income streams
  * Stick to the budget
  * Look for deals (slickdeals.net) to get extra money from companies and buy quality goods for less

- Keep the wife happy
  * Try to blame her less (especially for the kids getting hurt / upset)
  * Spend more "quality time" together (still trying to figure this one out)

- Learn something new
* Likely ASP.Net / The latest Visual Studio (I program in ASP right now)
* Learn Golf?

- Maintain the things I like
* Same Job
* Same Home
* Same Cars
* Same Family :)

PaperBoyNC - golf is a great game to learn.  Just make it your goal to actually learn how to play decently by the age you plan to retire (may save headache, haha)

My Resolutions:
  • Continue to refrain from negatively reacting to matters that will not matter in 6 months or a year.  Hopefully I will internalize to not even have a strong personal emotional reaction.
  • Organize and paint my garage
  • Get back on my bikes (road and mountain) more.  I truly miss being out in nature on a bike.
  • Cook more at home & set up a consistent routine home menu  (Had Shabu Shabu Mondays for a few weeks until the holiday season messed things up)
  • Prep my "toy" car for a track day
  • More morning or night walks with my wife
  • More golf
  • Get my life's routine back on track

Hehe good one IHS... my kids will probably be IVC not IVY.

Irvine should be birth to death and everything in between.

Irvine birth - Irvine elementary - Irvine Middle School - Irvine High School - Irvine Valley College - UC, Irvine - Work in Irvine - Live in Irvine - Retire in Irvine's retirement community - Die in Irvine...

Wait!  Irvine needs a cemetery to complete the Irvine life!

Start with IVC then transfer to UCI and then ICU if ended up in a trunk or taking a stroll in the field and forgot to bring a phone and wallet.

You should add to your list. Showering with your wife more often. ;)

Those might be opposites. She says she prefers to shower alone.

Maybe if you quit blaming your wife. She will let you come in the shower with her and will prefer to shower with you. :P
