So here was the 2011 one:
http://www.talkirvine.com/index.php?topic=1359.msg15196#msg15196

And my list:
IHO said:
1. Cut down the size of the IHO view lot:
Injuries in the past few years have kept me from being as active as I used to be but it seems most of those are remedied and hopefully I can get enough exercise to battle this old age loss of metabolism. Maybe eating less will help too :D

2. Find a place to be happy in:
Hopefully rates will stay low and prices will come down some more so we can buy a decent home for a reasonable price. I doubt it will be 3CWG but sometimes you have to make concessions for location.

3. Stay financially stable:
Mrs. IHO has expressed interest in cutting down hours or doing a career change to facilitate after-school care of the munchkins. We'll see how that goes come fall of next year.

4. Win IPO's Fantasy Basketball League:
That one is a longshot, I'm languishing in 3rd/4th and I have more games than most other teams.
It's the same this year:

1. IHO View Lot:
Actually... I've spent most of the year injury-free until recently. An injury has kept me from playing basketball for about 6 weeks but I'm going to try it out tomorrow. At least it hasn't been a knee issue which was the problem before this and I have been able to cut a few feet off my acreage during 2011.

2. New home:
Still haven't found a place (poor IR2). But rates are so low and prices have come down in the homes we're looking at (despite some people saying 2009 was the bottom), so maybe 2012 will see the IHO family in a different abode.

3. Finances:
Well, we've moved from private to public school so that's started some additional savings but we're not sure if the additional problems have been worth it. We may move one or both back to private if possible. Given that, I think both of us plan to stay full-time employed but that may change for one of us... we're just both happy to have stable employment.

4. IPO Fantasy BK:
Well... that didn't work out, even after getting Blake Griffin in a midseason draft because a team dropped out. My team sucked and it looks like more of the same this year. Even in the TalkIrvine league, chromatin is beating me and he has two players that aren't playing due to injuries.

There are probably a myriad of other resolutions but I find that the shorter the list, the less promises you break... heh.

So how about the rest of you?

My list from 2011:

1. I will not hate the people who walk out of the houses, and I will not curse them for making us pay their debt. Hard, but I can be a good forgiving person if I try.
>> Still, I am the same person.

2. I will read. Only read 3 books all of last year, and I think I counted a Dr. Seuss book in that..
>> I read a lot of books, all suitable for my age and taste.

3. I will make my career my primary focus. Hopefully the children will appreciate mommy doing what she loves best.
>> Didn't happen. Health issues took all the focus.

4. Meet the parents, and in-laws and listen to them patiently without offering advises. Understand that they just want to be heard and are capable of solving their issues.
>> Survived seven days of parents and in-laws under one roof, without conflicts. So I will give a ten on this one too.

5. Get a grip on eating out. Spent 4980 on Discover card alone, and we don't even go to ultra expensive places. Use the same money on a good vacation.
>> Didn't happen completely. Took vacations and lost the grip on eating out, again.

6. Learn to cook lighter and faster dishes. Someone wrote a book "better lighter faster java". Wish they would write one for mommy cooks.
>>I will write a book myself :-)

7. Watch a few adult movies at least, by that I mean not animated ones dished by Disney.
>>Have stopped watching movies, almost. Can't even remember the last movie I watched.

8. Stop worrying about weight, and accept that all good things must grow.
>> A perfect ten on this!

9. Oh, I will try my best not to be compulsive:-) I don't know how that will go..unwilling to give it a try still..
0/10. I still can't let anyone else load the dishwasher or touch my stuff.

Resolutions 2012:
Happiness is the only goal, and hope that all things we do lead us there.

If anyone has the time and motivation to read about my eventful (bad events that is) 2011, here is a recap I wrote on my blog:http://meghanajoshi.blogspot.com/2011/12/in-retrospect-2011.html

Happy new year everyone! Stay safe, and have fun :-)
Oh remember, don't drink and head out of your house, that's where the DUI checkposts are. If you are getting drunk in a restaurant and returning home, carry on. Just don't kill anyone!!

I just reread the 2011 resolutions thread IHO linked to. My reply back then was something about keeping my resolution for 2 days, and being proud of myself. So much for that. I don't even remember what my resolution was. I guess it didn't change my life in any significant ways!

I might go crazy and make some resolutions for 2012. Why not try to improve myself, right?

1) Break away from spending too much time on the internet and try to spend more time with people in real life. I think I'm close to finding a baby-step solution to that.

2) Travel more. Buy more tickets. Make more plans. I'm such a homebody and like it that way but even for me it gets dull after a while. I despise sleeping in hotels so that's sort of a problem. Maybe I'll stick to local day trips. I've been "tied down" with responsibilities since I was a teenager and never had the opportunity to travel so just recently I'm able to get my first taste of freedom.

3) Figure out what I want to be "when I grow up". Always wanted to do the mommy thing of course but my (last) baby goes off to first grade next year which will leave me with some extra time that I'd like to put to good use. Everyone I know is really good at something but I'm just not good at anything of importance. So, I'm drawing blanks. I'm concerned that I will take my dirt-nap before I can figure out the answer.

Panda, stop cherry picking single days for weather... you already admitted overall that SoCal has better weather than ATL. This last week has been in the 70s... and you?

I'm glad you're enjoying John's Creek... but... it's still not Irvine (or SoCal).

Has your time in ATL dulled your sense of definition? "Cherry picking" is exactly what you are doing, you are picking single day temperature readings to "prove" that John Creek's weather is better than Irvine's.

And you're not very good at it... it's currently 56 here because of the fog layer... and will be in the 70s. Tomorrow it could hit a high of 80.

The last post you did this was Dec 16, where John's Creek hit 70, of which only 2 days it was like that... many other days were in the 50s. And Irvine also hit 70 that day (FYI).

During the month of December, Irvine has hit 70 or higher for 10 days compared to 2 days for John's Creek. If you're gonna try to argue with me based on data... you should check your data first... go look at weather.com and click on Monthly. You'll find that on average, based on the highs, Irvine has been warmer than John's Creek during the month of December.

And temperature is only one component of "good" weather... at least bring up earthquakes or something that I can't argue against.

If I may interject, Panda you know I LOVE your house (I'm totally jealous - it's a dream come true) and believe you made a very awesome, smart choice, so no offense but the important number here isn't temperature... it's HUMIDITY LEVEL. You can go to the gulf area where it's consistently warm but choke to catch your breath because the air is so thick and heavy. I wouldn't consider that more desirable than Orange County's Mediterranean climate. The humidity in Atlanta isn't as bad as the Gulf, but isn't the State Bird still the mosquito?  ;)
