    Huntington Beach Foreclosure

As an update, the property received 52 offers as of this morning when the property was put on hold. According to my realtor, 3 of the offers were out of her office (unbeknownst to her) and they think that the property will land somewhere in the 950K range (230K over the listing price.)

    Huntington Beach Foreclosure

Graphix, this one is priced 50% off peak for this neighborhood. Knife catcher or not, there is no guarauntee that at bottom this part of HB will get any cheaper than the present asking price. Hence the interest.

    Huntington Beach Foreclosure

You really think so? I do think it odd that there is a "Huntington Homes" blog, given that they do not have a "Stanton Homes" blog, etc. But I think the heavy traffic may be due to the low listing price and the low price/sq ft. If you think that prices are going back to 2002, however, then...

    Huntington Beach Foreclosure

I am wondering if any of you saw this home in South HB this weekend: http://www.redfin.com/CA/Huntington-Beach/9391-Gateshead-Dr-92646/home/3780937 It is a bank-owned (B of A) property at Brookhurst and Bushard. It is in reasonable shape for an REO, but I estimate that it needs 100K of...

    Newport Coast

As a renter of a similar sized unit to you in a lower class neighborhood, I would be very willing to pay around $2800-$3000 for your place. I do not think that you will need to lower the rent very much to make it move. That being said, living in N.C. and paying a management fee while...

New Houses take a dive: Costa Mesa

Wouldn't it just be cheaper to rent month-to-month at the nearby Ali Baby Hotel?

    Newport Heights Flip?

http://www.redfin.com/CA/Newport-Beach/327-Catalina-Dr-92663/home/3244298 Can anyone comment on this property? Seems that it was bought very recently and is now back on the market for an extra 700 or 800k. Did they do a remodel or was this a distressed property that is investor owned now...

    Percent of Asking for REOs

How do you go about getting to know the "inside guy" with the bank? Is it by befriending a realtor listing an REO, or someone internal at the bank? We considered an offer on an REO, but they were already holding an offer 5% off and we were not willing to pay nearly that much.

Why so many negative comments about living in the City of Irvine?

Compared with Chicago Irvine is both the same and different. If you pick a suburb of Chicago that is affluent and has a heavy asian mix (i.e. Glenview) you can say they both lack excitement, have pretty good asian food nearby, have great schools and safe streets. In Glenview you have access to...

Realtors and the cars that they drive

I also saw that Phantom convertible (although there are probably many of them) in Newport Beach. I was grabbing some Peets coffee at the Corona Del Mar shopping center and the idiot in the Phantom parked it about 5 inches from my Honda Fit. I had to get in my car sideways to avoid dinging the...

    $1.5 - $2 mil === Find me a house in OC

What doesn't suck is the listing agent on that property. I think she is pretty hot.

Realtors and the cars that they drive

I went to an open house today in Seacliff (Huntington Beach). The house was circa 1972 and partially remodeled, and delusionally overpriced at 1.55 million for 3,000 sq. feet of paradise. What struck me was not the unappealing home, but that sitting out front was the most obnoxiously flashy...

Walls of Iron, where are you commuting to? That should probably be taken into consideration.

    Brightwater Huntington Beach reduced 300k?

I was down by Brightwater in Huntington Beach this weekend and followed an "open house" sign from a local realtor, to a very unfortunate resale. The owner purchased the unit 12 months prior for around 1.179, put in a couple hundred thousand of upgrades, and is now selling for 1.499. That is...

Ah I missed the "net" in his 150K. Makes sense.

    Brightwater Huntington Beach reduced 300k?

Graphix, Can you explain how the average sales price is 1.4 million dollars on the 7 homes delivered, while 5 of those homes happen to be in the more expensive Cliffs and Breakers? I recall that these homes are on average closer to 2 million dollars in the Cliffs and Breakers, and they...

Fix my mortgage? or leave it as an ARM?

hbguybill - I am a bit confused...how will you qualify for a 1.1 million dollar home with 300k down at your salary of 150k on a full doc loan? That is an 800k loan at more than 5 times your salary. What bank is making those loans?

    Brightwater Huntington Beach reduced 300k?

I finally toured Brightwater this weekend. In the cliffs and breakers, the woman who was the greeter was so incredibly rude that it was comical. I asked her what her job was there and she looked at me with this haughty, blank stare. She was just pissed that I was using their fancy Starbucks...
