Something we can't get at home....

If you're ever in the South Bay, check out El Pollo Inka, best Peruvian food I've ever eaten.  Okay well that's admittedly a small sample size, but the food there is delicious.  Lunch comes with a wonderful cilantro-based chicken rice porridge, rolls, and usually I would order "picante de...

    College Park in Chino

Do these all cash offers generally apply to new development homes as well?  We are on the priority list, though I feel it's more of a crapshoot, since the order they "rank" us so to speak are based on more factors than just the day and time you signed up...  We intend to make at least 20% down...

Irvine made another Top 10 list

I'm sure it's a dumb question but I've seen the acronym too much and haven't figured it out, what's "FCB"?  I'm just a casual TI'er so haven't caught it...

    College Park in Chino

Actually they also owned a condo in Orange/Garden Grove (right by The Artist Formerly Known As "The Block") that they sold recently, and the husband grew up in Fullerton, so they definitely have experiences in OC. I understand what you are saying though, for some people if you were to ask them...

    College Park in Chino

@SoCal, Haha, thanks!  I appreciate the honest opinion!  It's definitely something we think about. And to be honest, I do sit here and convince myself these smells somehow won't apply (as much) to us, since we are looking at the west side of College Park (the development is right next to...

    College Park in Chino

Thanks for the feedback so far. Ah, "the smell".  This particular area doesn't seem to get it very bad (probably depends on the day/winds I assume), the 5+ times I've visited in fact, I haven't noticed it at all.  We have a friend who lives close to College Park who also doesn't experience this...

    College Park in Chino

Anyone ever lived in Chino and have opinions on it?  We are thinking of buying in College Park.  I know... it's near the jail.  But I figure it's better to live near the locked up bad guys than in an area where the bad guys aren't locked up.  We also drove by it last night, and Ayala Park which...

    Amber/Sorano at Blackstone

Prices for the latest phase released this past Saturday, phase 14, were up from $570k from before to $585k now... That's for plan 1.  I heard from a friend that the plan 2s were selling for over $647k and that's up from the $630k before.  Don't know what the plan 3s are going for now but I'm...

    Definition of Middle Class?

But if you can afford that sort of housing are you still middle-class?  I'm not suggesting this makes them "rich" or "in the 1%", just that I don't see for instance, a majority of Irvine residents as middle-class compared to other regions in So Cal.

    Definition of Middle Class?

Just curious what you all think of what the "appropriate" definition of middle-class is here in So Cal. http://blogs.smartmoney.com/encore/2012/10/17/where-does-the-250000-income-divide-come-from/?link=SM_mustread I personally think $250k is pretty high for "middle-class", especially outside...

    Amber/Sorano at Blackstone

When did you buy, how long have you lived in the community?  I drove by yesterday and noticed some residents out and about.  I haven't settled on a floor plan yet, they all have their hits and misses.

    Amber/Sorano at Blackstone

Sounds like we may have a lot in common, I'm an engineer and my better half is a pharmacist, and we love the Rowland Heights food lol. Thank you everyone for the feedback so far, I think I will stop by Amber after work and check out their plans again (I only had a chance to check out Plan 2 at...

    Amber/Sorano at Blackstone

Can you smell the landfill though?  I didn't notice any funky smells when I visited, also didn't smell anything in Portola Springs as well, and I hear that's near a landfill as well.

    Amber/Sorano at Blackstone

Anyone take the plunge and purchase a house out here?  The woman and I are looking for a new development/starter home and these seem reasonably priced and sized, compared to the offerings out in Irvine (Sage in Portola Springs, San Mateo in Stonegate).  I work in Tustin, commuting from San...
