    New Car

It will definitely drive better versus other SUVs in it's class. The large amount of low end torque gives it great pulling power on the freeway. I would agree the dash is minimalist in comparison to competitors, however it all works well, especially the Bose sound system and head-up display...

What car do you drive? Did you lease, purchase/finance, or pay cash?

Auto broker is the way to go... save time, save cash. If you're looking for something used, they can pull it from auction for considerably less. PM me if you want a referral -- the guy I know has recently delivered a couple of M5s at deep discounts.

To EV or not to EV, that is the question

With current incentives, the Prius Plug-In price is on par if not better than a comparably equipped "standard" Prius. Even if you don't plug, you still get the benefit of the lithium-ion battery vs the NiMH battery (lighter weight). One more advantage of the carpool sticker is that once they...

To EV or not to EV, that is the question

I have a Prius Plug-in... solid car. Full charge takes a little over 2hrs on standard 120v. At SCE Tier I rates, that's about .50cents per charge. I avg about 10-12 miles per charge which results in a tank avg of 63mpg -- basically 500 miles per 8 gallons. At $4 a gallon, the cost to drive...

    Car suggestions

If you're interested in a PriusV or CR-V, you should give the CX-5 a try. No small CUV will come even close to the driving dynamics at the price point.

I think the stage lights are making it appear like there is more chrome. The ES is all new for 2013, they will also release a hybrid version. The Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe sport look great!

It does look weird, the c-pillar execution is much better on the 2013 Lexus ES:http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2013-lexus-es/#photo-4940614/ The cars shown at the NY Auto show were pretty impressive this year.... except for Honda.

    New Car

I recently bought a car and paid cash. Similar to ps99472's reasoning, I wanted to keep my ratios clear when it comes time to buy a house. There are 3 ways to ensure you get the best deal possible - pay cash, 0% finance, or arrange your own financing. If you don't do one of the above, you run...

Toyota Avalon $30,000+ttl, about $33K OTD? I assume this would be net of the $3K cash back they are offering. Do you pay tax on the rebate? My original guess was $32K OTD, then I realized they are offering 0% (36mo) or cash back.

    New Car

I've heard horror stories about the GT-R maintenance schedule. Nothing beats a nice German sedan, the best car I've owned was an E39 slammed on Hamann HM2s. For Porsche, the 991 is the reason I keep playing the lotto. I'm not a fan of the fatamera.

Slightly smaller however, as a fwd car you get the benefit of a flat rear floor. It's a better 5 seater. Also, the Azera is built in Korea. The Avalon is built in Kentucky. This has been debated for years, but I still believe the Japan built Toyotas tended to be more reliable than the US built...

I would take a Genesis over the Avalon... and I'd take the new Azera over the Genesis. The Azera has a sticker of 32K, with nav and leather:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_W7g-tCIDQc I've only spent a week or so driving an Avalon, it was okay. They did make a lot of changes with the most recent...

    New Car

I'd avoid the Sonata Hybrid for now. I drove the car for 3 months and it was a pretty rough ride. The switching system between the hybrid motor and engine isn't up to speed yet. The Camry Hybrid on the other hand is a fantastic car. Obviously, Toyota knows what they are doing with hybrids.

woodburydad, you're correct. According to API scores, Uni would be beneficial for all other categories other than Asian. Without knowing (purely a guess), the explanation would be that the significantly larger Asian population uplifts all the other groups (by providing better peer examples)...
