Agreed. I couldn't believe how much of a discount we got from the Builder. I was skeptical (and still a little). But the price was 1/3 of the retail price.
They "guarantee" a certain production. If they don't meet it, then they pay you. Of course, it is literally pennies per KW. So...
So I just got my interior walls painted by 3-High painting. Fantastic job. They finished it in 4 days, right on track. Very professional. Removed outlet covers, covered the floors and taped the trim. I had several colors (for the kids room) and even a custom NFL job for my boys room. It...
Yes, that worked, just spoke with builder. They let me buy it after COE. Saved $1,000 on the fridge and no delivery/set up fee (sounds alot better than saying I spend $9K on a fridge). Had to pay tax, but doesn't add to the basis of the property tax
I've noticed that there are some good deals through the builder. It wasn't that way before with another purchase with CalPac. There is no tax credit. SolarCity keeps it. I wouldn't be able to use it anyways based on tax situation
Looking at 42's as well. I agree the ice dispenser looks ugly on most units, but that LG looks better. It's got a taller opening as well for larger cups.
I'm kicking myself for not buying through the builder. They have the Sub-zero for $8,930 (internal dispenser) and $9,430 (external...
I purchased the Solar City 14 panel system from Brookfield Homes which is 3.43 KW DC (annual production of 5700 KWh) for $5,399. That averages 475kW per month. My current average usage is 357 kW per month and I spend ~$80/month. Granted the new house is bigger and will likely use more energy...
SoCal - maybe we can share notes on scope and contractors. I've had 4 contractors come out to my place for bids and I've gotten 3 of them back. Sounds like similar scope as yours. My bids are ranging from $130-$160K. I've done alot of research on materials. My biggest concern is getting an...
NWII isn't that bad and we really enjoyed in when we lived there in 2006. We met a lot of the neighbors and had block parties several times a year. There were a lot of young families with kids of similar age. In 2008 or so, people started to move away, and we really lost the charm of the...
I used to live in this house (without the mentioned modifications of course) for 5 years. I thought the office over the garage was really cool and that attracted me to the floorplan. However, that room was very hot and it really become unusable. There is poor air circulation in that room as...
My 10-year old son wants to start playing baseball and I noticed that it looks like there are 3 leagues in Irvine. Irvine Pony Baseball, Irvine Ranch Little League and Northwood Little League. Does anyone have any experience/insight in these leagues? not sure if there is a difference nor which...
I prefer all the bedrooms upstairs (old school). We have 3 kids and we were looking at homes with 3 BDS upstairs and one downstairs until my 6 year old daughter volunteered to stay downstairs so that "she can see her boyfriend when she gets older" I'm sure my 10 year old son put her up to...
Also real estate is a vey "inefficient market" There is a lot of emotions and greater value played on intangibles. Throw in cultural beliefs and additional values are added to other factors not traditionally placed values (i.e. address number, location on street, etc). In a large enough...
Dude - had the same issues when we moved into our place. We are renting at Coronado in WE and one neighbor on the shared driveway kept on parking his car in front of his house/garage. When I backed my car out of the garage, I had some difficulty. It wasn't anything major, but instead of a 3...
